Indian Summer

I hope that you are all enjoying this lovely Indian Summer we're having at the moment. After all the horrible rainy weather, it's turned warm and sunny just as the children have gone back to school. It's a shame that they are all indoors most of the time now, but at least they can go out to play at break-times, which is better than being cooped up in a classroom all day.

I had a lovely walk by a canal this afternoon with my OH and our dog. There were quite a lot of canal boats passing by, and everyone on them looked so happy. We ended up at a pub where we sat at a table outside and had a super meal. It was so warm that it felt as though we were in the South of France. The sunshine cheers me up, and I realised how much I have missed it this year.

The Indian Summer is forecast to continue over the weekend, so make the best of it while it lasts. :D

I used to love long walks especially in summer, but I am enjoying sitting in the garden and listening to the little birds singing there heads off....and looking forward to taking my chariot to the seaside...I can push it then sit in it...and I can propel it myself....:D :D
    Love

After an exhausting morning blitzing the house, I have spent a lovely afternoon in the garden with Mr SW and a couple of nice bottles.

I realised I'd no idea, mig, and it intrigued me so I googled it. It probably comes from the early US settlers. It seems the native Americans used a period of good weather at this time to harvest their crops. It used to have other names in Europe. Interesting.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
