That all sounds quite frustrating, yaris, though there are many on here will empathise with the ‘too young for a TKR’ verdict.

I’m wondering several things. Was your consultant a rheumatologist or an orthopaedic durgeon? What was your knee op and what was it intended to do? Has it done it? Have you been offered physio?

Sorry about all the questions. I’m just trying to understand where you’re coming from.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello yaris, I too have been told I'm too young for a TKR (I have to wait another two years at least) but them's the rules I guess. Is it the knee you had the operation on that is stuck? Is this why you wanted to know about whether you could take the pain relief - and did you find out the answer to that? And I think pain will be a factor if it's the operated knee that is hurting or are both of your knees complaining? Always sit with your knees supported by a cushion or pillow, do whatever exercises you have been prescribed and I hope it will soon 'unstick' itself but if not then contact either your surgeon or your GP. Hi Yaris
They told elainbadknee she was to young for a TKR, but she was in so much pain , she got a second opinion, and is now due in the next few weeks to get a new knee .
I understand there thinking , but its seems pointless to expect people to try and live with the pain and immobility.
I hope you can get some help very soon xx
    Love

    Hi Yaris

Well he wasn't very helpful was he? :x

Sorry, I don't know what else to say :(

Perhaps your gp could explain a little more? he should get a letter from the consultant explaining the procedures and results.

I hope you get things sorted soon
