There was a bit of a hospital hoo ha last week as the orthopod hadn't sent a report to my rheumy re: MRI scans of feet. So, I had to see rheumy nurse today who had no idea of what was going on and why I was there. However, the scans have been read and rheumy agrees that inflammation is not good news and wants me to start leflunomide. (She wrote this in my notes that took the nurse 20 mins to find.) However, she wasn't at clinic today, so I have to return again next week to collect the prescription. A bit disorganised but I'm finally on the way and got my positive head on, hoping that methotrexate and leflunomide are the right combination for me. I'll be staying on 10mg prednisolone as long as I keep an eye on side effects and have bloods done again in 2 weeks.

*Positive thinking*

I like your positive head, Starburst. There was a bit of a dog's dinner in there but you've managed to concentrate on the good stuff.

I do hope the meth/lef combo works for you.

(And watch that salt intake  )

Here goes nothing or maybe something......

Just popped my first leflunomide tablet. I'm down to 7.5mg prednisolone, I'll go down to 5mg and probably stay there another few weeks. Quite anxious about alll the pills I keep popping but hopefully they'll do the trick.

The pills are being popped for a reason and that reason is for making you better. You are not taking these for fun, you are taking them as you have a illness that isn't going to go anywhere fast and you need them to help you deal with it. And I hope they do. Hang on in there girl, only time will tell and in time it will. (()) DD

Listen to Dr DD. She’s got it right – again. You won’t overdo the meds while you are being so watchful, Starburst. I think you are right to be so but remember we do need some. Please don’t feel bad about it. I do hope the lef works for you.
