When do you see your rheumatologist, Marrianne? It fairly common for RA to flare post op. I needed two steroid jabs to get mine back in line after my knee revision. Please don't just leave it and worry. Ring the rheumatology helpline and keep doing the exercises but very gently and carefully. It will pass - but it might need a nudge

I'm with Sticky on this, Marianne. You're not a straightforward OA-er who can expect to reach for the skies more likely than not get there. The RA will flare regardless (it's a beggur that way) but it may be less likely to do so if you're back on the lef. I know all too well the apathy and general fannying around with covers, pillows, bath towels, meds, flaring, waking, dozing and the heavy sighs from the other side of the bed. Hang on in there, things will get better. ((())) DD

Don't you have a rheumatology helpline, marrianne? They're the quick route and it'd be better all round to get this sorted quickly. If you're flaring you can't use your joints, new or old, as they should be used. It'd be much better to get it sorted asap and the GP can't deal with that, nor the surgeon, only the rheumatology team.

Marrianne, Caverswall is not exactly round the corner, but pretty close. I live in Kniveton, 3 miles from Ashbourne - so if you're going to Ashbourne market do let me know! Doveleys Garden Centre....is that the one on the B road from Uttoxeter to Ashbourne? I've been there a couple of times, but the cafe always seems to close at odd hours. Or is it somewhere else; lot of garden centres round here. The one I like is Fairways, just outside Ashbourne on the A515, good cafe and lots of nice things...and a lift up to the cafe on the first floor, which I didn't even need to use last time I went!

Hello Marianne, how are things today? I think you should talk to someone about what is going on RA-wise so keep nagging away at the hospital because they are best placed to sort this out for you. I'm known for taking matters into my own hands but you are much more sensible than me! DD

No Wifi there but I will have the laptop with external wifi thingy but it depend on the 3G signal, possible not very strong out in the sticks.
