She will be casting off her cast and regaining a wrist after her carpal tunnel op. Please report with emergency saws, shears and chisels – no reasonable tool rejected.
Hope it all goes well, Numpty. (())

Tony! BEHAVE.
Count me in Numpty, I'll bring some little scissors and plasters just in case of any mishap. I have some special sparkly ones or ones that look like rashers of bacon - any preference? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Hello Numpty, I hope you are as OK as you can be and that the plaster cast removal goes without a hitch. I'm wasting - sorry - spending the morning doing medical stuff so won't be around until later but I will be thinking of you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I'm back.
Thank you Stickywicket for starting this thread, but I haven't had carpal tunnel surgery, it was a wrist fusion.
Thank you all for coming with me to get my cast removed, apart from the odd clunk when someone dropped their tool, you were very quiet.
I had to wait for an hour and forty five minutes  , then went to the plaster room. The nurse couldn't get the cast off, so she fetched the surgeon. He removed it and said my hand was too swollen to remove the sutures. The wound is healing well and didn't look too horrific.
The nurse then put a lighter cast on, she commented on how long the cast was taking to harden, then she realised she had used the wrong stuff  She had to remove the new cast and start again.
Anyway, the new, new cast is much lighter and less cumbersome than the old one.
I have to go back on Monday, to hopefully have the sutures removed, and possibly get my fourth cast
My wrist is throbbing like a good'un, so I'm going to rest now.
Thank you all for your support,
Numpty0 -
Glad you are home, rest up,will be with you next time.Wasn't me that dropped their tool.Mig0

Sorry Numpty I missed pocket duty  (was around meadowhall shopping with my lovely daughter
)
Well no wonder you are tired all that waiting then all the messing about with your cast. I am glad you are home now though and that you are resting.
I will try to remember to jump in your pocket on monday
Take care

Right, that wasn't the best appointment, was it? I hope the new new splint is OK but, if not, don't hesitate to go back. I still recall Poppyg1rl's nightmare after they put a too tight pot on her swollen (because of the arthritis) broken wrist. They wouldn't take it off until her rheumatologist went down with her and insisted.
So, don't be too brave. However, I do hope bravery won't be required and it's, by now, feeling much more comfy. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello Numpty, well, that was a preformance and a half wasn't it? I wonder if your poorly wrist was so swollen thanks to having a too-heavy cast on it? I hope this lighter one does the trick and that the soreness eases soon. I am thinking of you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
