I had my 3rd steriod injection into my knee today.
Good thing I had a supply of sugar for this afternoon.

Lately I have been suffering from terrible cramp in my good leg (I have RA in my right leg) but the cramp has been in my left leg.

Any suggestions to help or combat yet? I've tonic water and its pretty yucky.

I assume the cramp is in your calf muscle and forgive me if I'm wrong.
I've had problems on and off with cramping calf muscles since my hip replacement and I find a good deep massage does the trick. I too drink tonic water and also eat a banana each day. If you don't like the taste of tonic water on its own, they try adding some fruit juice - works for me.

Hope you can solve the problem.

Sorry, I can't help but I hope tomorrow's a better day. Don't forget to rest up after the jab.

    Hi Debra,

Oh flower cramp is horrible .... The tonic water might well help though I had to have some tablets as well.... Mine they think is either the back or the circulation. I have a drip to 'cure' the circulation but the cramp still grinda on buit mine is both legs and feet.

Its worth mentioning it to the gp though.

I wonder if your good leg is having to do too much and maybe not quite at the right angle? With luck the steroid jab will help and maybe that will ease the cramp?

I do honestly think its worth mentioning it to the gp though. Hang in there and have got you an anti cramp draft but I kinda drunk a bit of it  Cris x

You may need to increase your salt intake a little. If I get an attack of cramp then the next day I eat a small bag of salted crisps (I don't cook with salt and I don't add it to my food) and swig some tonic and that usually sorts things for me. Low potassium is thought to bo one of the causes of cramp so salt and/or a banana should help. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Debrakelly

Cramp is vile isn't it - back in the old days solved easily with a 'leap' up on my feet.

If it goes on too long I'm sure your GP can prescribe something (is it quinine? Not sure about that). The sensible dietry advice you have been given might just help though.

    Love
