Scary hospital trip, unbelievable scan result

I've told you all before about withdrawing from methotrexate to try and get pregnant. We tried, we achieved. That was a while ago, back in July and since then I've discovered arthritis isn't the only thing that can make your body treat you badly. I've had the mother of all morning sickness, so bad my GP has put me on anti sickness meds and banned me from trying to drop the dose as he suggested when he first prescribed them. I've watched things change, got fat, peed like my bladder was a thimble and discovered all the revolting things that the first 12 weeks entail.
Last night I bled, not much but enough to endure the 4 hours in A&E, getting home at 4am and returning at 8am for a safety scan. The good news is that the bleed is reducing, everything is ok and nothing has been harmed. The unbelievable news is that this broken body that sometimes can't walk downstairs and hurts and sleeps for days, this body has managed to produce two eggs and I've not just got the Bubble I've been talking to for ages but a Squeak as well who I'm now catching up with. As my friend said when I told her, hasn't nature got an amazing way of working! It's still early days (9-10 weeks we aren't sure now, 9 in size, 10 in date) but both are healthy, the hormones are high and the arthritis has slunk off, unable to cope with the hormones and their amazing force (bit like Mr LV if he starts an argument, he's also learning not to mess with pregnant ladies, they shout and cry with some force ). I just hope this broken body can carry the three of us safely until April! it's an unbelievable day and the happiest hospital result I've ever had. I know things won't be easy with two but WOW, what a result! Sometimes the scariest of hospital trips turn out good! xx

LV, that's brilliant news! I'm so pleased for you - for both of you - for ALL of you. It's definitely a good idea to have two pregnancies for the price of one. It'll save a lot of hassle later as Melrymax will undoubtedly tell you. I'm also very pleased that Bubble and Squeak (Our first was Spartacus - it felt like he was leading the Slaves' Rebellion in there) have opted to keep you arthritis-free for the duration. Enjoy it while it lasts it's a whole different ball game once they make their bid for freedom. All in all terrific news. I think they'll be our first forum twins. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

What a lovely surprise.
My family all have terrible morning sickness and home made chicken soup cures us all, you have to use the chicken bones to boil up for stock and do not skim off the fat, we all swear the fat is the magic trick with lots of carrots and onions, I hope the idea of food is ok, Baked potatos and chicken soup were all I could eat for the first 3 months with all my babies.
I hope it helps, just get someone else to boil the chicken bones, in your present condition the smell may be a bit too much to cope with.Best joke I ever read, "With that information and a diagnosis of spondylosis, your doctor can develop a treatment plan" or back in reality totally ignore you. Is ok I have a sense of humour and a boxing glove, not defeated yet.0 -
Oh wow, what absolutely fabulous news! Massive congratulations to you and Mr LV on your new bundles of joy. Incidentally, I think Bubble and Squeak are lovely names. Please do keep us updated on your progress. We're all rooting you on and are here for you. I really hope the morning sickness eases off.
I helped look after identical twin girls and loved every moment. Double the love, double the fun, double the joy and double the smiles.
All the best and take care of yourself! xx0 -
That really is excellent news LV.
I wonder if the morning sickness was Squeak, vying for your attention Now s/he has it, the sickness will stop
Congratulations and best wishes to you all.

Wow LV- fantastic news!!!!!!
My twins are now 27, and one is a paediatrcian, the other a zoo keeper. Like you I had no idea it was twins until a scan- then I laughed and cried alternately for about 3 hours, after which I went out and ordered 2 cots and a twin pram!!!!
I really hope all goes well for you and the bundles (ours were Charlie Farley and Piggy Malone, named after a 2 Ronnies sketch) - get lots of rest and let everyone spoil you in the meantime.
Every blessing

Hello everybody,
Thank you so so much for your kind wishes and support, it's amazing! It's made me quite teary, you are all such lovely people! After last night's drama I've had quite a lot of sleep today and I'm taking a few days off work to rest and let everything settle.
I've had a few 'oh my' wobbles at some of the practicalities of twins but they don't detract from my amazement and wonder! Mr LV keeps standing there stunned simply muttering 'twins'. Hopefully we'll get a bit used to the idea soon!
I'll let you all know how we go
Thank you and love to all, LV xxHey little fighter, things will get brighter0 -
