    Hi
How do you feel the appointment went? Are you a bit happier now about it.
Hyper-mobility if i remember rightly has something to do with people who can move their joints more than otheres eg double jointed....and it can cause pain......Sorry thats only a scrap from the back of my mind  When you see your GP next ask him to descirbe it to you in plain english
As for fibro....I only know about that 2nd hand and it seems to cause a lot of fatigue.
    Love

    Well done Felicity

See? he didn't disbelieve you :) He is starting you on treatment and seeing you in 4 months (that's soon), so he intends to review progress (or not) then.

You DID well there. I hope he was a nice rheumy and you feel you can talk to him?

have you ever kept a pain dairy? so you can detail quickly and clearly what has been happening? It is worth keeping other bits of info with it too such as feeling 'ill', exhaustion, stiffness in joints (which for how long) what helps/doesn'r help.

    Take care for now

    love

I agree with Toni. That's a good first appointment. He does believe you, is seeing you in 4 months (which is not long in rheumatology appointment terms) and is keeping an open mind.

Toni's idea of a pain diary is good. You'll have a lot more info to give him in 4 month's time and it may well be very helpful.

I can't actually help on the diagnosis front. Mine is RA and I've no experience of hypermobility or fibro. Why not check out AC's publications (at the top)?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Glad all went better than you thought it would, I think it is early days yet, and 4 months down the line, your rheumy might have a better idea, after seeing how well you respond to the meds.
I reckon Toni's idea of a pain diary is excellent, take it with you when you go next, and show him/her.
Don't forget we are all different, and another with the same condition, might be totally different to you.
I found with my condition, RA and OA, when I used to feel it badly sleep was a good thing.
    Go easy and good luck.

    Hi Felicity
Sorry I am late, but I see you got there and got a diagnosis...so now you know what you are up against...Im not sure about the hypo mobility, but there are many on here with fibro.
I do wish you well with your treatment and you do sound like you have a good rheumy this will make a bid difference.
    Take care xx
