Hi guys -

I didn't say anything before I went on holiday but I had a biopsy a few days before I left, saw the Consultant yesterday who very gently tells me that I have Malignant Melanoma, but with a good prognosis as we found it early. More minor surgery in the next few days.

It came as a bit of a shock as I wasn't expecting the news, thankfully I did take great care in the sun whilst away so I suppose the thought was lurking somewhere in the back of my mind.

I'm feeling positive but just wanted to let you guys know that I may not be around as much as I was until I get my head around this latest piece of news. I do hope you didn't mind me posting this latest, non arthritic development - sharing is helping.

I do hope you are all staying strong, and positive, and thanks just for being here!

Love Sue

They've caught it early - good. A few years ago Ma had one of these on her nose, that was removed in a few hours (including a lunch break while tests were done, it was weird eating sandwiches with her mid-op, she was ravenous!) and she's been OK ever since. Well done to you with being sensble with the sun whilst away - that was smart. You take as much time as you need but the good news is that it's being dealt with and with minor surgery too. We'll be here whenever you need us, OK? ((())) DD

I'm sorry to hear this, Sue, but I'm glad you have good reason to feel positive.

No apologies needed. Come here as and when you like. We might be called 'Arthritis Care' but we care for the whole person not just the arthritic bits.

I hope it all goes very well. Have a few more from me. ((()))

Oh bless don’t be sorry – been there in 1999 I know you will go through every emotion for a while but we are all different, me I was robotic had the biopsy flew to Germany same day on business would not talk about it got the results had the op back at work within 2 weeks still wouldn’t talk about it, around 6 weeks after the op I woke up in the early hours of the morning and needed to know EVERYTHING keep your contact phone number handy one day you may need it. Good luck xxxx
