Hi everyone,

Can somebody please advise, I have been issued with a sick note from my doctors and I have recently applied for ESA over the phone. Am I right in thinking I now wait for paperwork to arrive in the post from ESA to which I attach the sick note and send off? Or do I have to go to the job centre to hand it in?

Thanks in advance.
xx

Hi, I recently applied for ESA and was informed to send my sick notes to my local Job Centre. X

    Hi and welcome,

I think I had to send it to the jobcentre butI'm not sure. You might be better off giving them a call to check where they want it to go.

    Hi,

Thanks both for your quick replies. I think I will wait for my personal statement to come through, because it hasn't yet, even though I applied for ESA on Monday. Then check it, sign and include my sick note and take it in person to the job centre.

Just to be on the safe side, can you get a photocopy of the sick note..................heaven forbid the Job Centre "loses" it!

I had to send sick notes to the dwp area office dealing with my claim,if i was you i'd phone them and check, if it goes to wrong place it could cause probs.

Do make sure you photo copy it as well....these things have a mysterious habit of going missing.....

    Hi Gill,

I rang the benefits phone line and you are right she told me to post it to the nearest office which deals with claims for my postcode. However, I did ask her if it was also okay to hand it in person to my local job centre, where I have been signing on. She said I can do that too.

I will photocopy everything, I will be so frustrated if they lose it, which is why I am more inclined to hand in person at job centre. If I do decide to post i will probably send recorded delivery for what it's worth.

    xx :)
