Hi, I'm on income support etc which is now I'm told changing to ESR. Which seems to be trying to get everyone back to work.
I have RA and have been unable to work for a few years due to joint pain, being signed off by my doctor. But looking at the form they sent me, it will be followed by a assessment to see how to get me back to work. I've heard stories of people being told they can work in certain ways because they can do some movements.
I'm just worried how this will all turn out. Has anyone else been though this.
I look forward to your replies

Hi Karen
I haven't got experience of this process but I know there are others here who have. You might also find some useful info on the posts on the "Working Matters" part of the forum too.

Hi Karen sorry I can't help you I am in the same boat, I only got told yesterday I would have to apply for ESA, I have been getting the run around for weeks and I have not had any money for 7 weeks long story won't bore you with the details, hopefully someone will come along with some answers, I like yourself can no longer work as I have OA in my hands(go soon to get a finger fused) and also have nerve damage to a lot of my body, I don't even know if there is an employer out there anyway that would give me a day off every few weeks to get treatment.
I also have heard stories about people being told that they would be able to work in certain ways, all right for them to say, they don't see you when your up half the night trying to find ways of easing your pain, how do they expect anyone to hold down a job when they are like a half shut knife all the time and in constant pain grrrrr sorry for ranting on I will keep an eye on your post for any info hope everything works out for you..............Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smiles
just because you smiled I wish your
day is full of Smiles0 -
Thanks everyone for your kind replies and to Marie as you sum up how I'm feeling and in the same boat. I look forward to hearing more.
