Does anyone else get cold feet? I'm sitting with a hot water bottle on my feet and they are still cold. I wear bed socks at night (sooo attractive ) but still wake with blocks of ice for feet. Definitely an arthritis problem as never got it before.

My feet and hands were always like ice, even in summer, but since having RA, they are always warm, even in winter. I was told it is because of the inflammation and extra blood flow.Christine0

I've had icy feet since my TKRs three months ago.0

I'm not sure it is an arthritis problem, Salamander. I don't have cold feet and I've had RA (with prostheses) for years. Could it be med-related? It's odd, isn't it?If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I have the opposite problem.............roasting hot feet most of the time! cant do a thing with them! :-(0

I suffer from cold hands and cold feet. I have put mine down to poor blood circulation and being hypothyroid. I can feel warm all over except my hands and feet but this is not all the time. If I go on the exercise bike for 10 minutes, hard pedalling, then my feet and hands are no longer cold if they were before I started.

Thanks for replies. Never had it before I got RA, my ankles and toes are worst. It's like a mix of cold and pain.
Circulation is good so not that Elna. Could be steroids I suppose, that is the only drug I've taken consistently but I don't get it in the summer. Hmmm!
The other thing I wanted to ask was if anyone has had bad reaction to flu jab? I've had them for years with very little problem but this time it's swollen, red and extremely itchy (taken the anti histamine.) I do seem to react more to things these days. Wondered if it was my 'switched on' immune system....?0 -
I asked if my 'switched-on' immune system would affect a cold in any way but the general consensus was that no it wouldn't. The flu jab is different every year because the flu virus is different every year. Maybe it was a reaction to this particular one. Hope it clears up quickly.Christine0

I go from one extreme to another, don't seem to be able to regulate properly . I am with Valval on this one, put them on OH to get them toasty warm, wear ear plugs though so you can't here the grumbling .

I have cold feet and hands due to my sensory nerves been damaged, I go to bed with socks on and hot water bottle, don't have OH to toast my feet on............Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smiles

That's what I used to do Dee but I preferred not to wear earplugs. it was hilarious listening to the screams. Must be my wicked side.Christine0

I have really cold feet, but I am not a RA person just a OA spiney. My OH shrieks when I make him "share his warmth" in bed! (Not a euphamism by the way)0

Sorry I cant offer any help, my feet are always too hot...day and night..hope you find something to warm them up...xLove

My feet vary between hot and cold. When they are chilly I wear two pairs of socks (thin ones so air is trapped and warms) and add big fleecy ones on top if required. I have some felty woolly slippers too which are cosy (they came from Moshulu and are proper 'granny' ones in style but not in tartan!) Hotties can help, wheat bags too. It's not pleasant is it, Salamander? The things we have to contend with. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
-
No indeed DD. I have some (fake) sheepskin slipper boots which I bought last year and they are very warm, just big  Not my style but they are the only thing that keeps my ankles toasty.0
-
I share your pain, mine are always cold too. No advice though except we've just got an electric blanket with footwarmer, and even that doesn't keep them warm for long! I am thinking about getting one of those electric feet warmers though.0
-
I've seen those Merri and have been tempted! I have some foot warmers you put in the microwave but they cool down too quickly.
Seems quite a few of us have this problem and it's only just the beginning of winter0 -
I suffer with cold feet all year round! My G.P says I have bad circulation in my feet! I wear thick socks and boot slippers most of the year! Only time I don't is on Holiday! My beautican finds it freaky! I also have no real feeling in my feet and legs, I was tested at the Q.E hospital in Birmingham. I wore like a sleep mask and had alsorts of things stuck in my feet and legs and tested on hot and cold responses and got a low reading which means I could stand on a nail and not feel any pain off it, or stand in hot water and not feel it scolding me! So I have to be extra careful. But the circulation thing could be due to that or my poor circulation!0
-
Hi, I suffer with this constantly my gp says that it is raynuds as they both turn white, he says its bad circulation and also due to my ua thyroid if you want something sexy for your bed get yourselves an all in one sleep suit mine are only off when I go out, I know they can be diddly but if you buy a size up they are easier to get on and off, sorry diddly meant to be diddly.0

I find when my knees are swollen it's like the circulation below cuts down and my feet are like ice so I have to tackle the knee prob to help the feet!! It's weird and I'm always in fluffy boots and thick socks I'm nick named puss as in puss in boots but I would keep an eye on the knee joints.0
