Val, sorry not been on steroids so can't help you I am sure some of the others will be along soon to pitch in, good though the joints are feeling less inflamed although you are feeling strange maybe taking a little to kick in............tc.........Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile

At the risk of sounding flippant I'd say that, from my experience of steroids, that 'strange' feeling is normality, or what passes for normality with us. You're just not used to it, Val. I'm only half joking. We get so used to things being as they are, we forget what normal feels like. I was 'normal' throughout my first pregnancy. I loved it but never quite got used to it. It always felt strange.
Enjoy it while you can, Val, but always take the steroids with food, like everything else.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I get steriod injections.
The only thing that has really affected me with them is mood swings.
Does help with the pain though.0 -
I think the steroids are beginning to have an effect on your joints. What dose are you on? When I started them I took four five mg tablets at 2pm thinking I wouldn't feel any different - four hours later I felt so much better in myself and that's when I fell in love with them. For some of us they do what is promised on the packet and, as Sticky says, that can be an odd feeling. They can make you feel very hungry so beware of that and eat sensibly for the sake of your tum. Good luck! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hello Val
So glad that the pred seems to be helping your joints. As for your question being strange - well I don't think there is such a thing as a "strange questions" where pred is concerned
I can fully identify with the "munchies" Val and you have my sympathy on that one.
Hope they really do help you over the next month.
Thinking of you.

Hi I've been taking pred for over 22 years now and all your symptoms are normal especially the munchies. Do yourself a favour and get lots of fruit and healthy snacks in, putting on weight will cause more stress to your joints and make sure you take in plenty of calcium and vit d.0

Steroids do some strange things, they always make me super duper thirsty, similar to super duper hungry. Hope they work for you! LV xxHey little fighter, things will get brighter0
