So, it turns out I can play sax and clarinet, Bubbadog does the cello...I think we have the beginnings of a forum band. We'll be needing conductors and whoever else out there can play a note/ once played a note- what will you be playing?! Recorders, washboards and everything else welcome! :D

I used to do piano until my fingers packed in. I've done a course in composition so I could manage harmonies. (I think  )

You're in Sticky, we're now a trio. In e creaking band we're all going to be excellent and be able to play our chosen instruments without the hinderance of arthritis so you are now our concert pianist :D

Blimey! We really are in Fantasyland. The most I ever murdered in real life was Liszt's Liberstraum. If I'm good can I do a Chopin Piano Concerto sometime, please? I'll gladly chip in with the jazz too.

You're in Mig, casternet in one hand, recorder in the other! Marie, the choice is yours, maybe switch between the two? I can see you leading us in with the bagpipes!

Course you can Sticky! Nothing wrong with fantasy land. I'll be playing Dave Brubeck's Take Five at double speed and with no bum notes  honest!

Well, if we're talking fantasy, I'll play the flute, while standing on one leg, in the style of Ian Anderson, of Jethro Tull fame.

Right, my best was the piano (classical only) my second the clarinet (ditto) and my third (and favourite) the double bass (yup, you guessed it, classical only). I can feel syncopation (and almost time it) but realise it? Nuh-uh. I'll deal with the advertising side of things, OK? I'll leave the clever stuff up to you guys. DD

No, definitely not. DD's much better on the ivories than I ever was. I shall be 2nd piano player in reserve (Waiting for my Chopin moment). Meanwhile, I tortured a violin briefly and my son, also briefly, played a tuba. I've always fancied an instrument you actually wear.

Well aren't we shaping up nicely?! We have a dancing conductor (you can only point a stick at wimmin if you wiggle your hips whilst doing so Tony), a flautist who can stand on one leg, two pianists both too polite to take the stand and thus a potential tuba cuddling violin player and a double bass cuddler, a few recorder players...I don't think the sound is going to matter, the novelty value is high!

I'm sure others can come up with something better but, as a starter, how about 'AC in (Plaster of) Paris'?

We also need a name. On the same principle, I'd suggest 'The Non-Elastic Band'. Over to you all.

I'm loving both of those suggestions Sticky :lol:

In honour of Mig I do wonder whether we should get one of our composers to prepare an altered version of Men in Black too - lyrics changed to Men in Lycra instead?

Is it wise to feed mig's addiction? Maybe we should wean her off this lycra fetish???

you shouldn't make light of this ladies. It's a little known fact that six out of ten wimmin are highly addicted to lycra :o
In fact, it's now been classed as an epidemic. A government body has been set up to tackle this terrible affliction...
The Institute of Tackling Epidemic Found In Todays Society :o:
Or, TITE FITS as it's more commonly known.
Boris Johnson has gone on record to say that not since the Pancake Craze of '79 has there been a problem of such magnitude...

Rumours are abound of stars hiding this cozy fitting craving..
"I find myself sneaking around at night wearing nothing but a spandex onesie" admits Johnathon Ross.
"I knew it was bad when I was almost caught buying a pair of shiney black cycling shorts, right next to a school playground  " confessed Anne Diamond..

    True stories :D

Can't play a note on anything, but I can bash a tambourine if that's any use. I can also play the triangle, but not both things at the same time.

Tony, you seem to be a world authority on lycra addiction, but I won't ask how or why

So is there an organisation similar to the AA for those recovering from lycra-mania after the Olympics :?: I think a few of us need to join if so
