Pocket duties please!

Would really appreciate some pocket company please. I have a rheumy appointment this afternoon at 4-6 months into gold injections but not sure that they are having real benefit and because I have bronchiectasis associated with the RA he wont prescribe biologics- haven't a clue what happens next! Been at home for a month (I teach 5 year olds) after a chest infection triggered mega flare, my lovely GP offers sympathy and pain dullers but I feel guilty about work and truly fed up of the constant battle. Sorry all that sounds terribly self indulgent :? . Any way, I'm just about to write a symptom list to take with me, but I've cleared the tissues and crumbs out of my pocket if anyone is available to hop in for moral support.
Thanks

I can fully understand the guilt about work, but it won't help you get on top of the problem, so park it and just get on with focusing on YOU and getting YOU better.
Am with you, let us know how you get on.

I'm in. Shame you cleared the crumbs out but not to worry - I'll make my own.
Not self-indulgent at all. Just naturally worried as the the rheumatologist is one who can, hopefully, change things, not the GP. They only dish out dullers and sympathy.
Hopefully he can chuck something else into the mix. I'll be there watching. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I'll be there Deb.
You really shouldn't feel guilty, you have no control or choice over the situation. If you did, you would choose to be healthy, and able to do the job you clearly love.
I hope all goes well at your appointment.
Thinking of you,

May I join the pocket party?
May also add to the crumbs, but will keep quiet except to say, why feel guilty if you are ill and in need of care then what is to feel guilty about, shame that is easier said then done but we can keep trying.Best joke I ever read, "With that information and a diagnosis of spondylosis, your doctor can develop a treatment plan" or back in reality totally ignore you. Is ok I have a sense of humour and a boxing glove, not defeated yet.0 -
Oh Deb, you've been through the wars! But don't feel guilty! Think at least I'm not passing any germs from my bronchiectasis to the kids! Will be in your pocket with a flask of hot soup to keep me warm!0

I'm here too! Soup is lovely. Good luck and leave the guilt behind, there's no need and also the thoughts of self indulgence, hardly, you arent even trying to be self indulgent in my book! Good luck.

Thank you all for your company- just home and maybe feeling a bit more hopeful.
In summary the rheumy listened thoughfully and suggested that the gold isn't working :? . So we're abandoning that but he isn't willing to try the biologics because of my bronchiectasis. So....... he proposes monthly steroid injections to keep inflammation at bay until easter when I hope to take early retirement, then adding in methotrexate again to see if I cope better with it when I'm not surrounded by coughing and sneezing ankle biters. On the positive side- at least I wont be getting big rainbow bruises on my btm from the gold injections . It makes things feel better when you can walk away feeling as if the professionals have listened and want to help.
Hope that you are all having an okay kind of day- thanks again for your support and encouragement- this forum really does make a difference because folks here understand in a way that our friends and family can't because they don't have the experiences of living with the relentless frustrations of the disease.
