Huge thanks to you all for being there today, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be although my legs wouldn't stop shaking, how embarassing, pain sufferable, face defrosted although lip still numb hopefully be fine by morning. Phoned surgery this afternoon for blood results still low WBC and High ESR and a note to get repeated in one or two weeks time...........hello........... due to get an infusion on Wednesday(talk about not checking records), I phoned the hospital and spoke to the ward doctor who looked at the results, sorry no infusion you still have infection, get to your GP with a sample and get some antibiotics. Spoke to GP explained I am going to be climbing the walls by next week and god knows when I will be able to get my next infusion his reply was, you are right it must be the catheters that are giving you infections I will get a prescription for you and quickly changed the subject Grrrrrrrr what is it with doctors that they can't suggest an alternative solution when they don't know themselves what to do......Sorry if this is a bit garbled going to pick friend up from airport.........thanks again all...........Marie xx

Hi Marie,
Oh doctors.... they really do just leave us hanging and waiting and I really hope it will soon all be back to normal (what ever normal is now a days ) and the infusions get back on track. Hang in there ad hope your friend arrived safe. Cris x0 -
Hm, on balance not a good day, Marie. I hope the infection clears up soon and you can get back on track. It must all have been very frustrating and disappointing despite the brave face. Take care. (())If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh gosh Marie,
How frustrating for you, hope you get the right antibiotics and the infection clears soon.
In defence of doctors- my son is a hospital doctor who sometimes has to work ridiculous hours( 13 hour days for 5 or 6 days straight- and sometimes longer if they are under pressure- he never walks away until the job is done)- some days he comes home grey with weariness and doesn't even have the energy left to eat. So maybe the doctor you meet is at the end of their tether too and just doing their best to help.

Thanks again everyone for your support, I will just have to take a day at a time and hope I don't have to get the climbing gear out.
TM lovely to have some Yorkshire blokey hugs as well.
Deb, sorry if I came across as "having a go" at the doctors, I have nothing but admiration for all my docs and I know how hard the ward docs work, you must be so proud of your son, I am just panicking a bit as I know I will be in severe pain by next week, it is dipping at the moment and I can't forsee when my next infusion is going to be. I just don't know where to turn.................Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile

Hi again,
I wasn't having a go either, just needed to offer the other view.
Like you I've had some hugely frustrating medical encounters and they do leave you feeling desperate when you have pain constantly.
Hope the antibiotics are starting to do their work, and the pain dullers chip in too. Take care.

Deb I didn't think for one moment you were having a go pet, I totally saw your point of view, as you said sometimes pain clouds your judgement, thanks for your reply........................tc.................Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
