Hi everyone hope your all keeping nice and warm now the weather is changing.

7 Weeks ago I attended my Rheumy appt and had started with a rash. Anyway, Consultant stopped my Meths and I had a steroid jab in my B*m. Told me to see him in 6 weeks, well 7 weeks later lol. Today I went back, the rash has worsened its all over now and extremely itchy even have it on my scalp.
My own GP has given me Bettamousse for my scalp, and a steroid cream and moisturiser for the rest of me and I had to stop all my other meds 3 weeks ago.

Anyway, Consultant is now refering me Urgently to Dermatology with suspected Vasculitis

No medication was given to me today but Consultant is writing to my GP to say to give me a steroid injection should I need it before I see him again in another 6 weeks.

Am feeling really down now as I just seem to get one thing sorted and something else decides to jump up and bite me in the B*m. On the plus side joints are behaving themselves at the moment.

End of moan :(

Love n Hugs

SheilaD xx

I've no experience of vasculitis but it sounds nasty. I hope the dermatologist can knock it on the head quickly and I hope that the steroid jabs will, if needed, keep the arthritis at bay. Yes, I'm afraid this is hoe the rollercoaster goes. You just get settled and then the ride starts up again. I hope there's better news next time, SheilaD.

    Hi Sheila,

I have to say vasculititis is horrid! I have had a now and then after the drip. Mine seems to go in the legs and they have always treated it with either just rest or that and antibiotics depending on how bad its got. Cus mine is corsed by basically an assault to the blood vessels it kinda self rights in about 2-3 weeks. Its horrid and man does it itch!

I so hope it will soon be seen and helped more but Flower better days will come and things will sort for you I hope soon. Sometimes all we can do is hang in there but thinking of you and its nice to see you again. ((((( ))))) and a bucket of fortitude and hopes. Cris xx

Thank you all for your replies.

Skezier, I have it all over and lord does it itch. I have been on sick leave from work 2 weeks now and have just got another week sick  I hope I get it sorted soon as my job is Health Care Assistant in a well known pharmacy and the itching makes it impossible for me to do my job properly. I cannot be giving advice out on health and scratching at the same time  I don't think that it would look good.

Sticky, yes I am certainly riding the roller coaster at the moment.

    Love n hugs

    Oh Sheila,

Its horrid and I felt like ripping my legs to bits..... Cus mine is caused by the drip I am lucky it is never more than the legs and when the midline became infected the arms.

I so hope they will soon get yours sorted and you will feel a lot better as well. I get the drug induced one and its so much kinder than the one you have but hang in there and leaving you another ((( ))) and a hope. Cris xx

    Poor you Sheila

I wonder if it's like the rash I have had urticaria vaslilitis (sp) twice. Mine was all over the body and I could make wheals come up by even running a finger nail gently on my skin.

My lips swelled up too and so did my joints. As each part of the rash eased I was left 'bruised'

The 'cure' in the end was steroid jab some anti-histamines (a specific one) and oral steroids.

So far so good it hasnt come back but took a long time to go.

I did see a dermatologis, but she had no idea what had caused it - except to say some people can eb extar sensitive to meds.

    Love and LUCK
