Hi
I got a call from the hospital yesterday. I am to be admitted to hospital on 24/10/12 for the arthrogram, manipulation of my right hip under GA and an injection into my hip joint. I go for the pre op next Friday.
This is quicker than I anticipate as the nurse at the clinic said 2-3 months. But I am pleased as my pain is worse, and my hip keeps locking painfully. In fact I had a bad experience the other night after going to a 6th form open evening with my daughter, and I couldn`t bend to get into the car. Very painful, and very embarassing standing in pain, crying whilst Mr NB trying to help me `bend` enough to get into the car. Especially as there were lots of spectators!!
I was at work when I got the call about my admission to hospital and my boss told me to sort my work diary for the next month etc.. just in case.
Feeling a bit nervous today.
NB

    Hi NB
My head isn't here at the moment but please remind us nearer the time if you want pocket duties. I'll be with you in thought as I have an appointment the same day. I'm sure it will go ok for you. May

    Hi NB
I had an arthrogram last year..and the injections while I was asleep, the injections only worked a little, but it gave them a clue has to what was going on..only because they cant make there minds up between back and hip pain,I do hope it all goes well , and they can help you.
After you just have to take things easy for a few days, I will be in you pocket and have my fingers crossed for you xx
    Love
    Barbara

    Hi NB
The sooner the better. Like I said to Elaine you're bound to be jittery before it.....but think of the relief afterwards.
    I'll be there...in your pocket.

    Hi
and thanks to everyone who has sent such supportive replies xxx
Barbara, how long did it take to get back driving etc? A few days? I have planned things for half term and am hoping not to let my children down, so need to get back behind the wheel quickly.

I went to physio this morning, but she didn`t want to do anything until after my injection etc... but has referred me back to hydrotherapy, which I am pleased about. I find hydro really helps me to do the exercises without too much stress on my joints.

I am suffering this afternoon though, as after going to physio, I nipped into town to get MR NB`s birthday card. I wasn`t out for long, but my hips are really complaining now. So I am having a lazy afternoon before the school run.
    Take care all xx
    NB
