Hi everyone. Do any of you reside in the 'Garden of England' like me? If so, does anyone know of an Arthritis Support Group? I believe there is one in Ashford, but I cannot get there and wonder if there is anything more local to me in the Maidstone area? If not, but there is anyone else on the Forum who does live locally and would like to get in touch, I should love to hear from you. Hope you are all having as good a day as possible. Beryl

    Hi
I'm in the North East so thats not much good....I have a local group.
If you go to the main arthritis page it will tell you where there are groups.

    Kentish Girl,

I live in Ashford and am aware that there's a group in Ashford but - and it's a big but for me - they meet on a weekday during the day. As I'm still able to work I can't get to the meetings although I'd love the chance to meet others locally in my situation.

However, you are welcome to PM me if I can be of any help. (I've got OA in various joints with my spine being the most recent 'member' for me).

Hi all. Thanks for your replies. As far as I am aware there is only the support group in Ashford which is a shame. Have been having a rough weekend. I went out on Friday and though I did very little walking (by anyone else's standards), it was further than I normally manage and so have been 'suffering for my sins' and pain has been'going bananas' as well as me!!! These forums are great. It's a shame there aren't more of them in our County. I keep spreading the word about them as they are definitely the 'next best thing' but actually meeting people face to face would be the ideal situation. However, shall keep posting on the forums and keeping in touch with you all. Hope you are all having as good a day as possible. Beryl

    Hi Beryl,

If you would like to start up an AC local group near you AC will help you or they used to do so. There are a few on the forum over the years that have done this, so I understand, with support from AC. If you are interested why not have a chat with the helpline perhaps or private message the Webmanager. If these are not the right people to approach they will point you in the right direction, for sure. There is no need to commit but you could see if it was something you may like to do.

    Hi
You've got to remember that I'm the other end of the country and my geography is dreadful
Apart from Asford, there is Bexley and District {Welling} and also in Deal
    Any of those any better???
Probably miles from you but they are the only ones I can find.
As elna says you'll get lots of help if you want to set one up

    Love
