As a pre Christmas treat in mid December, the family meet and have afternoon tea at a hotel. Yesterday hubby and I visited a hotel just around the corner which has started serving cream and afternoon teas in their new lounge area and, of course, we had to try it out. It was very smart with extremely comfortable chairs (in fact I nearly nodded off) and the lightly warmed scone covered in strawberry jam and cream melted in my mouth - delicious. Very surprisingly, we were the only two people in there. Booked a table for our family treat on the way out. Can't wait, as it's so nice to get together :D .

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Janet x

    Hi all,

Woman after my own heart we searched devon for a traditional cream tea
    and found nothing...
Last month i visited my dad and step mum that we hadn't seen in 14yrs
we happened to mention that about cream teas And then on the sunday
she invited us to a homemade cream tea...
Believe me when i say it was worth every bite and the happiness and bloated bellies was worth every moment

My advice stuff the hips

Thank you for all your lovely comments. We are so looking forward to our tea in December - can't wait! I shall think of you all as I am putting lashings of strawberry jam and clotted cream on my warmed fruit scone. I'm salivating already.
