Aww Joan, the dreaded side effect of a little something to help you out! Is there anything other than stopping the tablet that can be done? I hope it resolves soon.

Hello Joan, I have to admit I am a little muddled about this. Is the alendronic acid the culprit? I found that med a real nuisance to take - empty tummy and all that sitting up for half-an-hour malarkey. Can they suggest an alternative such as injections every now and again? You need to protect your bones, don't you? On the plus side at least it is something that can be remedied fairly easily. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hello Joan
Like DD says I hope they can give you something else for the pain, its one of these things.. that the meds we need for pain can have such side effects,
I do hope they can offer some help
    You take care xx
    Love

    Hello Joan

I'm so pleased that you know now what the problem is and hopefully it can be sorted without the need for an op.

Hope too "they" will advice on what, if anything, you should have instead - injections or infusions are possibilities I think for people who already have confirmed osteoporosis.

    Thinking of you.

    Hi Joan
I have osteoporosis and I take Strontiam Ranelate. Its a powder you put in water every night.
I've found I get no trouble from taking it. Some GP's won't prescribe it as its expensive. Mine was prescribed by the specialist so now I get repeats fom the GP.
Maybe worth asking. There is a freephone helpline for this med if you were worried about anything.
    Hope this helps. May

    Gosh Joan

At least they know why and hopefully as Tilly said they should be able to help with the osteoporosis another way.

Glad you are pleased you don't have to take it any more
