Hi everyone
I am constantly feeling too blimmin hot and am not sure what's causing it!
Before my TKR on 24 July i was always feeling the cold, but now have the opposite issue!
I have an office job where we have Ar Conditioning, and i have been sitting in the office with a sleeveless blouse on each day for ages...........yet the others in the office are wearing cardigans or jackets!
I hope it's just me being peculiar!

How odd Julia :?
Hopefully it's your painkillers or something and will settle in time??? Have you checked your temperature incase you aren't 100% well?
If not I can only think of one thing  and you must be too young for that

Hi Toni
well i've been thinking maybe an infection, either that or my thyroid level might not be quite right!
am due to see doc next monday.........but am a little concerned as its been going on a while now :?
and as for the other thing............yes i am that old..........and sadly been there done that.........hysterectomy at 37.........and am now 52!0 -
I seem to remember a thread not long ago in which someone was wondering if a TKR was causing them to feel cold rather than hot. I've never found a prosthesis made any difference. I think we just tend to look for a likely culprit timewise. I know nothing of thyroid problems but, if that might be a cause, maybe best to get it checked out.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I think I started the thread wondering if my TKR had made me cold. I'm now wondering if major surgery simply messes up your temperature regulating mechanism at least for a while. I still tend to feel very cold, but it's gradually improving....at about the same rate as the pain in my knees, interestingly enough. Seems to suggest a connection. If I'm right, hang in there Julia, and hopefully we'll both heal all over in time. But of course get it checked out too.0

I'm sitting on my sofa with sweat pouring down my face (and elsewhere). I would love to feel cold because I'm sure that is more easily remedied than the opposite. I think pain is my chief culprit and if my Ma wasn't here I would now be standing in the back garden, arms raised to the heavens with only a very large bath towel wrapped round my sylph-like form (but I'm not 'cos my mum is here and I can't handle the nagging). I've been hot pre-menopause, during menopause and now very definitely post-menopause. Your comrade in drippines, DD.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I started feeling hot when RA set in. I did ask my health centre nurse about it. She thought it was hot flushes (as I have reached menopause) but my rheumie said it was arther. It's the inflammation and increased blood flow which causes it for me. Definitely get it checked out though. Something is causing it and you need to know what.Christine0

Ah well so it's not 'that' then Julia.
I tend to agree with the others - maybe it is worth getting thyroid checked out?
