Thank you everyone, your kind thoughts are much appreciated. Yesterday went well, we had a quiet and unfussy ceremony (Ma-in-Law was a quiet, unfussy woman) and the gathering after went smoothly. Five of our friends came, one of mum's cousins and a few of her neighbours. Everyone chatted and got on well. The pub did a splendid spread of sandwiches, savouries and cakes, there was tea and coffee and we covered the bar bill.

Now it's Friday and I'm still floating around like a fat ghost, unable to settle to anything. Ye gods. This can't last for much longer, surely? It's my Ma's birthday on Sunday so we need to plan that. Hey-ho. Take care of yourselves, please. DD

Ye gods I'm tired. :( Mr DD is sound asleep in front of some rugby league and I hurt from top to toe (with extra hurty bits in the middle). He went back to the cemetary earlier to take some photos of his mum's flowers, I took a few on the day but he is a better photographer than me.

I forgot to go to my orthotics follow-up appointment on Tuesday (only the second time ever I have forgotten an appointment) so I rang them yesterday and humbly apologised. They said it was fine and would I like to go on November 21? I said yes please. Actually I don't but as they are trying to help me I too must play my part. The appointment is on my phone, in my work diary and on the kitchen calendar. No excuses this time.

The stairs are hard work but I'm practising walking up them like a proper grown-up and coming down backwards in the same manner. This should surely help to strengthen my muscles and (in theory) help the knees. Yeah, right. It's my Ma's birthday tomorrow so we've booked a table for lunch at a local pub and then part of the afternoon will be spent at Wyevale. I will suggest we go in two cars so that 'im indoors can come home after lunch and so miss the 'delights' of the garden centre. I can't put him through that.

I'm off to hunt for a biccie. DD

Sounds as if you both need plenty of rest now. Hope going up and down the stairs does help DD. Enjoy tomorrow with your mum.

Mum has had a lovely day despite the awful weather and that is what counts. I am (currently) an unspeakable human being. I'm tired, tetchy and grouchy but am being a very good girl and hiding it from those around me. They can't help, they can't change anything, that ball is entirely in my court. Dammit. DD

DD I know you want to make everyone around you happy but you need to take care of No.1 You! I'm sure everyone can look after themselves and I'm sure Mr.DD would prefer to have a ok DD rather than a burned out and in pain DD! Take sometime out for No.1 now the sad and heart breaking week is over. Big ((HUG)).
