    Hi,

I had my diagnosis of Fibromyalgia 3 years ago and arthur's diagnosis
june last year in my spine it's osteoarthritis and hands arther.
But with the mingle of both it's a cocktail nightmare.
I have naproxen,gabapentin,co-codomol, coming off prozac 40mg and on
    friday i'm starting duloxetine.
Can't get to pain clinic untill after 7th december got to see my specialist
for my back mri update. Coz i fell in the bath 6 days after i had facet
joint injection ( which failed anyway )
    So i understand your pain.
    Good luck.

    Hi soraya
Its good to have you back with us, although I am sorry you have been suffering.
Sorry I cant advice you on the fibro, but the best things the pain clinic gave me were the amitryptaline for the night time, and gabapentin for the nerve pain...they can also offer acupuncture..this I declined.. but I now know that people have had good results from it, so its something for you to think about x
    Love

Hi Soraya...I was diagnosed with Fibro by a rheumatologist early this year with some sort of arthritis thrown in but still under investigation for that one. I find fibro to be more muscular pain and not as "deep" a pain as arthritis, there are a few similarities though, especially the tiredness which is a symptom of both diseases. I take a muscle relaxant for the fibro along with pain dullers for the arthritis (they think it maybe osteo). Some people have had positive experiences with the pain clinics so it maybe a good idea just to go and see what its all about, we all know that there is no magic cure but if there is something that makes it just a little better its worth a go isn't it?

Take care and keep warm its bloomin freezing x Dee x

Hello Soraya, it's lovely to hear from you again albeit with such grotty news. I'm having a rough time at the moment due to the death of my MIL, my mum visiting (which means I'm coping with about 100 - 175 stairs per day) in addition to the arthritis.

I think fibro is a usual consequence (for some) of their version of arthritis but there is not a great deal to be done for it. Rest is important (as always) and I hope the pain clinic can give you some helpful tips and hints about dealing with pain. We all know it's a constant companion and nuisance but there are strategies which can help. A magic pill would be good though! Take care and keep in touch. DD
