Hi
I had my hip procedure yesterday. Dynamic athrogram, manipulation under GA and injection into the joint. This was to find out what is happening with my right hip which is getting worse. I have hip dyplasia and they thought i have a labral tear, something which is quite common in dysplasia.
I saw the consultant before I went to theatre, and he explained that if they find a tear he does not plan to repair it. This is because shaving the labrum or trying to repair it will make the socket more shallow/worsen the dysplasia which will make the hip more unstable. He also said I will be looking at another THR but not sure when. He will need to look at the arthrogram to assess what is going on in the joint re arthritis etc...
I told him my concerns about how I am to carry on working with the increasing pain and decreasing mobility and he hopes the injection will help with the pain for a bit and allow me to build upthe muscle strength around my hip at physio, which should make the hip more stable.
I can up to 3 injections per year for pain. I have to go back in 6 weeks for the results of the arthrogram and discuss the next plan.
I am tired, woosy and sore today and am having a pajama day!
Take care all xx

I have rested as much as I can today. But still feel tired and washed out. I have tried to do my physio exercises as instructed but found some of them too painful.
Back to the duvet........
