Was at GP on Monday for my monthly visit, he had been studying my blood tests after my recent ones showed up low white cell count, he said that was back to normal, but my red blood cells were slightly large and he was going to take blood as this can be a vitamin problem. I got a letter from him this morning that my white blood cell count was down again no mention of red blood cells(must have been ok), can I make an appointment to get them done again, does anyone know what causes the white blood cell count to fluctuate like this, this is the third time in a month it's happened........fedupoveractivemind.com.......sorryfortherant.com.........Marie xx

Don't be daft, there is no need to apologise because these things are unsettling and bothersome. I dont' know why this has happened but please take comfort in the fact that he is keeping an eye on this. Everything varies and fluctuates within the body over the course of a day - the bloods are just a measure of a situation at a certain time. Fret not, my lovely, you are being monitored and that is a good thing. ((())) DD

The other two are quite right, Marie. This is a frustrating time for you and, no doubt, a little worrying but at least he's monitoring you well. I think, after these bloods are done, I'd ask for an appointment to sort out what the results mean and what happens next. (())

Sorry I cant help, but you do seem to have a good GP..the only time they ring me is if I dont go for a smear test...they lose money apparently if you dont go.
Hope you get things sorted very soon xx

My gabapentin advice leaflet says it can cause white blood cell levels to drop - not sure if that is any use to you?

Thanks for the reply Bubba, thats good you are getting monitored and they are keeping a good eye on you, I have been getting my blood checked every three weeks for nearly a year now and all has been fine until about a month ago, that's whats phasing me a wee bit, but I'm sure it will be something and nothing  xx
