I Clattered into clinic K earlier today and met the lovely Richard for the third time. He asked me how I had been getting on with my insoles and I said OK but that they had unsettled things especially for my knees. He checked me standing on them and pronounced himself dissatisified with the the amount of 'prop' and support they are giving me: he had warned me that they would soften with use and they have (which is why I'm finding them reasonably comfortable). So, the upshot is he took new impressions of my feet (YEEEEEEEEOWWWWW!) and I am to have another pair which will be higher and firmer and even more uncomfy. Hoorah. I will be collecting these on December 14th by which time I am hoping to be mobile after my double carpal op. Truly, the fun never ends. DD

Who's a lucky girl then? TWO new methods of feeling pain :o (Sudden thought - do masochists get arthritis and, if so, do they enjoy it?)

Well, I hope they work and I hope the CT op works and, if so, you may have a half-decent Christmas. If not, meet you here Christmas Day for a good whinge.

I expect you're on the dullers now to counteract the lovely, healthy, strong Richard's manhandling of your not so lovely, healthy or strong knees.

C'est la arthritic vie. More's the pity.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

That doesn't sound much fun, DD :?

Still, meeting attractive men does take the edge off hospital appointments, in my experience :P

Hope you're starting to feel a bit better, and good luck with your op!

    Best wishes,
    Phoebe

I agree, Phoenixe, I don't think it will be fun at all! This pair were bad enough when I began with them, the thought of something higher and firmer is, quite frankly, distressing. Still, there's a great deal to be remedied and the good things in life do not usually come without some effort being made by the person who wants 'em so bring on the torture. I'm game. (Nearly.)

As for masochistic arthritics - nah, it wouldn't work, self-inlficted pain for 'fun' is a totally different concept to pain for the helluvit. DD
