I cured my hip pain.

The one thing I dread above all else (even more than large spiders) is my arthritis spreading to one hip or even both. I reckon I have it in enough joints to satisfy my arthritis but no doubt it has different plans. Last night I thought it was putting those plans into practise.
I woke up at about 4am, lying on my right side and feeling as though a stone was digging into my right hip. 'Ye gods,' thought I 'It's starting.' My hip felt sore and tender, so I tried moving a little and the 'stone' went with me. 'Damn,' I thought, 'It really is starting.' I shuffled about a little more, the 'stone' did too and I heaved a great, dramatic sigh. (I could as 'im indoors wasn't with me so I could be as noisy as I liked.) I lay there letting my thoughts run riot (like you do) then told myself not to be so stupid and to turn over.
Turning over is no longer accomplished in one smooth move, it takes three or four jerky ones so I duly executed those and lay down on my left side. Inevitably my right hand (splint and all) went to rub my right hip to offer it some comfort - and the stone moved. In fact it fell off. I groped around and found it.
It was a Werther's Original. DD

well so glad that all it was. the shuffle turn is a thing to behold glad it not hip valval0

Pleased its not the hip. I had batteries in my pocket (from my sons camera in case you are wondering) and did the same the other night but unfortunately taking them out didn't make any difference to the hip pain.

I believe it's technically known as the wages of sin I'm not sure how you would go about marketing your miracle cure but I'm sure there's some charlatan out there who would be having a crack at it.
Re the 3-4 jerky movements to turn over - make that 1/2 dozen if one is lying on the wrong bit of the nightie and so boomeranging back every time :roll:If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

You could make money out of that story, in the right places.

Oh DD,
Had Mr DD been whispering sweet nothings in your ear?0 -
Sticky - what nightie? It's just me au naturel and the beige beauties. 8) I could make money from that if I could find the right web-site. Numpty, he does whisper stuff, this is not the place to relate what he says but I can reveal it's often an invitiation to go elsewhere.
The Werthers are my current sweet of choice for stopping the tickly cough that, once it starts, just won't stop until my throat is 'oiled'. They are a better shape to suck and taste reasonably OK in the early hours. Quite how that one ended up under my hip I don't know. Right, onwards and sideways with the chores. DD,
I loved this - absolutely loved it! It's just another example of your very positive attitude to this dreadful condition.
My colleagues in the office thought I'd gone bonkers when I saw your post at lunchtime as I was laughing so much. You have truly made my day.
I've copied your comment onto an email and forwarded it to a friend of mine who's really going through a bad patch at the moment (nothing to do OA or RA - just life in general). She's texted me to say that it brightened her day considerably.
It's not appropriate for me to comment on nighties (or the lack of them); sweet nothings being whispered; sweet shape, batteries so I won't. I'm sure Tony may have a view though!
Be careful with that sideways housework.

Phew DD ..... what a relief! One less pain for now. May you have a comfortable night ahead and a sticky-free hip. (No offence to Sticky!).

Alas my early morning extravaganzas are severely curtailed as 'im indoors is back. No more luxurious spreading out for yours truly - I'm back to the hell of only 2' 6" to call my own. Dammit. I'll need to put the Werthers somewhere sensible. :shock:Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I couldn't do that. I find I get all sweaty with skin on skin. A bit of cloth between me and me is essential. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Where do I start? Yup, the Werthers was still wrapped (it's one from a tube of said sweeties so in the clear cellophane) but how the hell it got there I don't know. Sticky, I don't do the skin-on-skin thing (apart from the mahoosive bosoooms resting on me chest or (should I be lying on my back) in their repsective armpits and so find that the bath towel over the pillow (and the one on which I lie) is enough to soak up the general drippiness that emanates from my less-than-sylph-like body. I steer clear of Mr DD's naked loveliness (ye gods) as I get even hotter (and not for THOSE reasons). Don't eat in bed? What else is an arthritic gal to do? DDHave you got the despatches? Blimey.. Where do I start
All this talk of toffees is making me strangely hungry :?

As it was still in the wrapper I assume it was still edible.. Heehee
Now.. How on earth do I get THOSE images out of mi head?
I sometimes have a strange growth on mi hip through the night... He's a fat white cat lol he's like having a sack of spuds on the hip..
Mmmmm, chips... I'm hungry again.. :shock:Me-Tony
