hello everyone just found the page whilst looking for info, wish I known about it ages ago!

My name is Jen Im a 35 year old married mum of 4. I was born with both hips dislocated but even though my mum insisted there was something wrong the drs didnt believe her until it was too late to fix it. Ive had many ops over the years the last being a right hip replacement when I was 30
I have arthritis in my hips and knees and also suffer with back pain.

I had steroid injections in both knees yesterday and im trying to find out the risks of breastfeeding while having the injections as i dont really want to stop feeding my son if I dont have to. I have a friend who works as a breast feeding support worker who has looked into it for me and is pretty sure its safe and Ive not read anything thats says otherwise. If anyone else has fed while on the injections Id appreciate any info

Im also awaiting my tribunal date for incapacity benefit was meant to come through in october just want it over with.

im looking forward to getting to know you all and hopefully be able to help others as well as get advice

Hello again, Jen. I've just replied to you on the 'Say Hello' forum :)

    Hi Jenna

lovely to meet you and welcome you to our forums.

You have your hands full with 4  I can totally understand that the last thing you want to do is stop feeding the baby unless you HAVE to. I wish I knew the answer to this - have you tried ringing the helplines? If they don't know they might 'know a man who does' :?

I think you will enjoy the forums - bringing plenty fo your own experience to add to ours :D

    Love

    Toni xx

thank-you both for your replies so far feeding is going fine I decided to carry on based on my research and my friends advice, it looks as though one lot of injections is safe but they advise not to after the second lot, which is fine as it will take my son up to 10 months and dont fancy feeding him with a mouthful of teeth anyway lol!

injections also seem to be helping the swelling I had around my knees has gone down, I had forgotten I had nobbly knees lol!! only issue I have is that my hips seem to be hurting more! you can never win eh!!

That seems like a good outcome, Jen. It's also good that it's helping your knees. I can't comment on the hips. When I've had steroid jabs they've tended to help all round but others find they don't help at all. I hope things go well for you.
