Well looks like Monday is on for the fusion no more cancellations, don't think I have really thought about this though, as it has just hit me that although it is only a finger fusion I will have to be extremely carefull till the bones have fused together, as one lives on ones own it is going to be fun doing the every day normal things in life, Mmmmmmmm hey ho, where there's a will there's a way, just as I was getting the brain cells geared up for my little trip on Monday the phone rings, it is my neuro to explain my lip biopsy results show that I have sjogrens syndrome :) Ooft well these little things in life are sent to try us, more appointments, more people to see ...............Hope you all have a lovely weekend.............Marie xx

    Hi Marie,

I will be thinking of you too. I am sure you will manage, we tend to be quite a resourceful bunch. Good luck!

    Hi Marie,
I'll be in your pocket on Monday.
Although things will be difficult, I'm sure you will manage. You seem like a very resourceful lady.
Take it easy, and give those bones time to fuse.
    Thinking of you,

Numpty took the word 'resourceful' right out of my mouth. I'm sure it'll be OK, Marie, but I'll be there to keep an eye on things  Yes, it will be difficult afterwards if you're on your own. I don't know what they do with these things - a splint? a pot? - but I'm sure you'll manage not to do too much too soon.

I'm sorry about the biopsy results. I'm pleased to say I know very little about Sjogrens. And I'm aiming to keep it that way

    Take care.

Do what you can now so that you won't have too much to do after. Ensure that your fridge and larder are stocked so that shopping doesn't have to thought about, leave down on worktops things such as mugs, tea, coffee and sugar (ours are in a cupboard above a worktop but will be descending soon) and make sure your milk is in little containers so they are not too awkward to lift. (I shall be getting individual pints for a while rather than twos or fours). Which finger on which hand is being done? I'll be there with you, promise. DD

Thanks DD appreciate your tips, I have done a batch cooking today and portioned it all and put into freezer, so got plenty to keep me going meal wise for a while(mind you skipping a few would do no harm lol) , I am lucky it is the index finger on my right hand thats being fused and I am left handed so should make things a wee bit easier, got all the joggies laid out no zips or buttons, just about organised, it's the not being able to drive for a couple of weeks that's going to kill me....... oh well never mind...........Marie x :(

Ah yes, I'm facing no driving for a month (minimum) and that is going to be very very tedious. You sound as though you're getting things sorted so hats off girl, you're doing OK on the prep front! Hopefully you won't find it too bad (it would be worse if it was your left hand  ) but my gut feeling is that you will be OK. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you. DD

Of course you have the jitters, that is entirely understandable. Hopefully by this time tomorrow it will all be over - I take it it's day surgery like mine or will it take longer? Will you have to stay in the first night or not? DD

Que sera sera (she warbles) indeed but getting to that point is not easy. Treat yourself to summat lovely tonight, I hope you manage to sleep and that all goes well tomorrow. Do you have a friend to take you and collect or are you reliant on buses / taxis? DD

Ha ha can just picture you singing DD, I have to get a train and a taxi to the hospital, all my friends are working and I wouldn't have asked them to take a day off work, and family don't live near by, it will be fine, if I was not having to get up at five in the morning I would have had a large glass of red don't want to be breathing fumes on the surgeon  Thank you xx

    Hi Marie,

Good luck from me too, and well done for all the prep! It's natural to have jitters, but I'm sure the time will fly by tomorrow and soon enough you'll be home :)

    Best wishes,
