Hi all,

I was just wondering if you think this is arthritis pls. My blood results keeping coming back positive for anas which I'm due to have investigated soon by a rheumatologist but I've been told this may be a sign of arthritis. Also my knees crack so loudly when I bend down they are very sore every day, they lock up about 5-6 times a day and when I straighten my legs to release it they crack really loud. I also have a lump now in one of my knees which my mum think may be a bone spur, I'm only 22 but are these all symptoms of arthritis please help?? If it turns out to be arthritis do you get any help or treatment? Thanks xx

hi well it depends on what type of arthiritis they decide it is if doc has sent you to rhumytologist then they will be thinking one of the ones with inflimation and if so they will treat you if it ostio arthritis well if pain meds and operation when things get bad we are not doctors so can not tell you and as there are over 200 types well we do not know them all. good luck try not to worry the treatments are very good and if you watch your weight and exercise life can be more or less normal when they find best meds for you val

    Hi
I'm sorry you've come across this at such a young age.
IF it is arthritis there are ways and means of managing it.
I'm no doctor but there isnt a cure as such but lots of different things to be tried.
It depends what kind of arthritis it is...RA or OA are the 2 most common....different treatment for each one.
Keep coming back on here for support if you need it.
    Love

Joint cracking is caused (I think but I may be wrong) by nitrogen pockets within the joints popping and those without arthritis have it as well as those with. The locking I am not sure about as mine never have but they can sometimes give way. The good news is that you are seeing a rheumatologist soon, he is the person to tell you what is happening with you as he will have all the facts and figures to hand and I hope he can give you some answers. Is there a family history of either an auto-immune or osteo arthritis? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi
The cracking and locking could mean your knee just need a wash out, this is usually associated with OA, my OH had his washed out and he was and still is so pleased with it, make a list of everything that is happening and take it with you.
I do wish you well with it all x
    Love

    Hi Madisonrose

I haven't got much to add other than my best wishes to you and hope that they can diagnose you soon so they can start treating you.

I know it's hard not to worry and If I could wave a magic wand to stop you I would. Agree with Val - keep a diary so you can clearly and accurately demostrate what is happening

    Love
