Shoulder

Hi, I'm fairly new on this forum but have posted a few times. I have had a THR of my left hip. I have other pains in other joints aswel. At the moment my shoulder is quite painful. I have seen a dr and she is sending me to see a physiotherapist. As I had osteoarthritis in my hip I would of thought she would of sent me for an X-ray first to see if that is the problem. Is this normal procedure? Any replies appreciated.

Hi Sarah again and welcome
I have oa of multiple joints and one of them is my shoulder, they should xray it really ,but some doctors don't like doing lots of xrays, your Physio might ask for one, but if you don't have any joy there, the steroid injections work really well on shoulders, so I am told. xLove

It doesn't strike me as unusual, Sarah. If it is OA the physio should help. If it isn't it should probably help too. The treatment for OA is pain relief, physio and, eventually surgery.
I've just answered your other thread and, actually, if your legs are uneven, and particularly if that is resulting in back pain, it could also be responsible, or at least partly responsible, for your shoulder pain. Do the physio, get an orthotics referral and see how you get on would be my suggestion. (Then let us know )If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
