Hi,
Well back from the hospital......Quite a good appt. He mentioned back operation again but only to say that it was 5 times bigger than the hip operation . He didnt say it ......but wasnt really advising it.
He has asked the GP to make an appointment with the pain clinic. He would like everything done in the one place....acupuncture/back injections. There are physios, psychologist, physciartists etc I'm sure you all know this.....lots of you have been to pain clinics as far as I know.
I have a small lump on my back, under my shoulder but above my shoulder blade. Sometimes its sore sometimes it isnt?????? Its been there for about 10 days....He doesnt think its anything to worry about but is sending me for an MRI sometime for that.
Apointments appointments lol
Thanks for being there with me

Love
Hileena

Glad it was a more positive appointment Hileena and really hope the pain clinic is helpful for you. Sorry you now have yet another scan appointment but glad the lump is being checked out.

    Thanks Tilly and Numpty
I did ask my previous GP to refer me to a pain clinic and all i got from him was "long waiting list and I can do as much as they can" an that was it.
I havent mentioned it to the new GP but I assume it will be done if the specialist asks her to do it.
Goodness knows how long the waiting list will be???
It was a pretty positive appt all in all

    Hi Hileena,

Gld it went ok today and well the back op... I had the decompression and yeah ok it wasn't a picnic but if push comes to shove and they decide its the way to go i promise you after about 4-6 months I was back on my feet and regained so much of my former life that it was well worth it so don't worry about that one if it turns out to be what they decide.

They have come up with a good plan re the pain clinic... I would be stuffed without the help mine have given and get a good one and they are worth their weight (or more) in gold.

Hope it wont be long before both the mri and the pain doc see;s you.

Leaving tea in the special mug and a breath out to know its all going in the right direction. love and a ((((( ))))) and stay warm Cris xx

I'm glad it was a good appointment. The Pain Clinic sounds good and having everything at the same place even better. I hope it helps.

    Hi Marie, Sticky and Cris
I dont know what the waiting list for the Pain clinic is.
    The MRI ....I have to ring the dept and chase them {I was told that :lol:}
if I havent heard by Friday.

Cris you are a lot braver than I am....I doubt if I would have the operation.. As for the pain clinic...I know how much you value yours and used to say to me if you get the right one its fantastic.
I'll play the waiting game again now

Hi Hileena, Glad the hospital appt went well, and now it's just the waiting game to see what comes 1st! You go ahead and chase the MRI if you still haven't had the appt by end of today! And you can always ring your G.P's secretary to ask her to chase consultant appts I have done that a few times with mine. Hope you get the appts soon, take care, BIG (((HUGS)))

    Well done Hileena

so sorry I am late on, but I was having connectivity issues yesterday

Sounds like a plan to me. Pain clinics are definitely the way forward :)

As for the wee lump - I am sure all is well, but always best to get these things checked out

    Take care

    Hi Hileena
Think you might be getting there slow but sure, did they say if the hip pain was referred from your back...you know I am watching your threads just to see what they come up with before I have my first THR....good luck at the pain clinic, I refused acupuncture, but some people have had great results from it.
Wishing you well with it all xx
    Love

    Hi Fowls,bubadog, Joan,Toni and Barbara.
Going to ring about the MRI tomorrow.....The XRay dept said to do so.
Barbara....I knew you would be watching....they keep telling us the same thing  He seems to think the pain is from my back. {not referred from hip} I still have pain in my hip that hasnt been replaced.
I had acupuncture one time....our physio dept suggested it.
I would have kept on with it.....gave me relief for about 4 days and then I was back to normal for the next 3 before they gave me the next lot.....after a few courses of it they said it wasnt helping enough to warrant keeping on with it

    Love
