It struck me, in the small wee hours this morning, that I need to start creating a play list for my MP3, get some new stuff on the Kindle and ask 'im indoors to go to Blockbuster to sort out some films. I thought about 'You need hands' by Max Bygraves, 'Knuckleberry Finn' by Mark Twain and of course The English Patient. I thought Mr DD might like 'Lean on Me' . Any further suggestions will be gratefully received so don your thinking caps, yes? I hope you have fun with this, I'm still thinking but my brain is sludge. DD

Yes DD, I like this.
The film "Cool Hand Luke" could be renamed "Cool Hand Daisy"
As for songs,
"Willie and the Hand Jive" becomes "Daisy and the Hand Jive"
"Second Hand Rose" becomes "Second Hand Daisy"
and one from Bob Marley "Brand New Second Hand"0 -

You're far too much of a whippersnapper to remember the Hand Jive, young DD, but presumably any of the very early '60's stuff would lend itself to it.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

:? My Italian ain't up to translating that. 'Mano' must be hand but the other words are unknown. I am sorry, Sticky, je suis une dimwit. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Okay culture vultures how about this with a festive twist; Mr HANDel - give us some Messiah soon so we can all be happy - and if you're happy and you know it clap your hands (or arthritic mits in many of our cases?!) :?If you get lemons, make lemonade0
-
Alas, the one thing (well, one of the many things in the early stages) I won't be doing is hand-clapping - I won't want to burst open my wounds! I like the suggestion though - I for one shall certainly say 'Hallelujah!' when I get out of theatre. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Yes sing it out gospel style DD and wave both hands in the air (making sure you don't hit a scalpel or a doc/ nurse in the face first though). If you get lemons, make lemonade0

In which case you're in good company. Not speaking Italian, I kind of assumed, based on spanish. I thought I was offering you a hand. (Not the best offer in the world, as anyone who has seen mine will agree, but well meant.
I've now looked it up and it appears I was proposing marriage to you  Fond of you as I am, I really feel that both Mr SW and Mr DD might object and, besides, you're not really my marital type. May I rescind the offer :oops:If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
