It struck me, in the small wee hours this morning, that I need to start creating a play list for my MP3, get some new stuff on the Kindle and ask 'im indoors to go to Blockbuster to sort out some films. I thought about 'You need hands' by Max Bygraves, :D 'Knuckleberry Finn' by Mark Twain  and of course The English Patient. I thought Mr DD might like 'Lean on Me' . Any further suggestions will be gratefully received so don your thinking caps, yes? I hope you have fun with this, I'm still thinking but my brain is sludge. DD

OK, this has involved every brain cell I possess - yeah, both of 'em. How about:

    Songs
    We Shall Not be Moved
    Please, Release Me
    You’ll Never Walk Alone
Do Not Forsake Me O My Darling
Gimme, Gimmme. Gimme a Hand After Midnight
Thank You for the Loo Seat
    Carpal Tunnel of Love

    Books
    Hard Times
    Arms and the Woman
    Vile Bodies
    The Waste Hand
    The Winter of Our Discontent

    And, for MR DD:

    Knowing Me, Knowing You
    I Can’t Stop Shoving You
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Yes DD, I like this. :D

The film "Cool Hand Luke" could be renamed "Cool Hand Daisy"

    As for songs,

"Willie and the Hand Jive" becomes "Daisy and the Hand Jive"

"Second Hand Rose" becomes "Second Hand Daisy"

and one from Bob Marley "Brand New Second Hand"

You're far too much of a whippersnapper to remember the Hand Jive, young DD, but presumably any of the very early '60's stuff would lend itself to it.

Alas, the one thing (well, one of the many things in the early stages) I won't be doing is hand-clapping - I won't want to burst open my wounds! I like the suggestion though - I for one shall certainly say 'Hallelujah!' when I get out of theatre. :) DD

Yes sing it out gospel style DD and wave both hands in the air (making sure you don't hit a scalpel or a doc/ nurse in the face first though).

In which case you're in good company. Not speaking Italian, I kind of assumed, based on spanish. I thought I was offering you a hand. (Not the best offer in the world, as anyone who has seen mine will agree, but well meant.

I've now looked it up and it appears I was proposing marriage to you  Fond of you as I am, I really feel that both Mr SW and Mr DD might object and, besides, you're not really my marital type. May I rescind the offer

Of course I don't mind blueknees, it's lovely to hear from you. My knees are also in trouble so being hand-less for a while is not ideal but hey-ho, where's the challenge in having an easy life? DD
