I'm having an MRI scan on my jaw on Saturday at midday. I've never had my head in the scanner before and my anxiety is bad, so I'm quite nervous! If anyone has a spare 40 minutes, I'd appreciate the support. Little tip; don't bring anything magnetic, I'd hate to see you get stuck to the machine! :o:lol:

Much love and a promise to catch up on the forum over the weekend.

    Hello

I'll be there with my eyes closed and imagining I'm not inside a pocket but lying on a beach somewhere!

Hi Starburst, I'll be there with you.
I hope there are some strong people in your pocket, as Villier and I, both have metal parts, and may need pulling from the scanner!

I'm in. No magnets in a bottle of wine, are there

Numpty - no, you won't. The magnets'll just shoot straight through you

I'll be there - I've only been fed in as far as my knees, any further I would keep my eyes closed, think happy thoughts and create an alphabet list or two but also keep my thumb over the call button. That's called comfort. You will be OK my lovely, we'll be there with you. DD

    Will be there with you.

You might be allowed to take a cd to listen too, I did last the last time and that really helped.

I'll be there too if there's enough room. If not I'll just wait outside!! Good luck, I'm sure it will be better than you are expecting.

    Sophie

I will be right there with you - all will be well. Just stay calm and keep your eyes closed - listen to the music and count the songs like I do. Each one is about 3 mins long so less than 20 songs and it will be done.

    love and hugs

Hi Sophie. I'll be with you too. Know just how you feel but am sure as the others have said that the best thing to do is keep your eyes closed and try and think of something nice. Let us know how you get on. Take care of yourself. Beryl

    Hi Sophie,

Yes, happy to spare 40 minutes for this. I can't give you any advice as I've never had an MRI scan, but the others seems to know what they're talking about! Hope it goes well :)

    Best wishes,
    Phoebe

    Thank you pocket friends. :D

I hope you all weren't too squashed. It's a suprisingly small space but luckily, I was ok. I was good and stayed still, so they got it done in 40 mins. The worst part was having my mouth propped open with a spongey syringey thing, not fun. It's all done and dusted, I get the results in 10 days.

    Hi Starburst

Didn't we do well? I haven't heard of the spongey thing before. Anyway, all over and not too long to wait for the results.

Enjoy the rest of the week-end

Well done oh brave girl, MRIs are not that pleasant an experience. I too hope the results are on the better-to-good side (but fully appreciate that questions may not be answered if they are). DD

Really glad that's done and dusted - and well done for managing to stay still and to cope with the mouth thingy. That doesn't sound nice at all.

Glad you know when you will get the results - but sorry it will take ten days.

    Thinking of you.

Hi Sophie. Kept thinking of you yesterday and wondering how you were getting on. You did so well, much braver than I am. I can't even bear the thought of an MRI scan as suffer from claustrophobia and it would scare me rigid, but so admire those of you who find the courage to go through it all. Well done, and I hope your results will be as good as they possibly can be. The mouth 'thingy' sounds horrible but you coped with it all so well. Let us know how you get on with the results. Beryl

Hope the results show something they can treat
