Am I the only one on here to be utterly charmed by this series? I missed the first episode but saw last week's and loved it. Roll on tomorrow! DD

Definitely not the only one. Great script, real characters, good acting and - practically a first - authentic Yorkshire dialogue and accents rather than the usual, sloppy, anything-north-of-the-Trent-will-do. (Full marks to the voice coach.) And it really is Halifax, Harrogate, Skipton and the bits in between. I was frozen stiff for them in those outdoor scenes.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I know there's a book (it's based on a real story) but for once I won't want to read it because I won't be able to shift the mental images from the series - one boxed set to purchase, methinks. Roll on 9pm tonight! DD

Ooooh, Mr Frog likes it? So does Mr DD and yes, it is unusual for us both to like something like this. He tolerated Call the Midwife (and other costume-type dramas) but even he is saying we mustn't forget to watch it. DD

PS Hello newbygran, I'm glad you're enjoying it too.

Mr LV n me both love this too. He asks me every Monday if 'that programme is on?' Which is a feat of memory for him and a day early which is also a feat for him! Beautifully acted and fantastically shot with a fab cast! If only all TV was this good.
