    I put mine up at the weekend, I love putting the tree up, even though I will be spending Christmas & new year in Spain with my sister :)

    I usually wait for a couple of weeks into December...but my middle GD was adamant we put it up on the 1st...and GC come first in this house... :D xx

    Got mine up too, though must admit I've done it earlier than usual.

    Bought a new tree a couple of weeks ago as our old one kept falling apart last year. Have had a bit of trouble getting it straight as it kept leaning to one side and looked decidedly drunk. Saw my husband looking at the tree and then the book case and I knew what was in his mind and I said "don't even think about it". But he did, and it's now straight as he's fixed it to the book case with one of his woodworking clamps. I'm just waiting for the comments from the rest of the family when they see it :lol: . It's one of those fibre optic trees and looks at its best when we sit in the dark. If we put the room lights on, then we lose the effect. Somehow I think we will be buying another tree next Christmas.

    Not sure where to put mine either this year due to the purchase earlier on of a lovely chaise longue :?

    Hi All,

    Its not too early at all is it! I love putting up the tree and all the twinkley lights :D

    I had a musical fibre optic tree for years it was lovely :D could you disguise the clamp with a bit of tinsel Janet?

    Come on Toni get the tree up :wink:

    I hope to get ours tomorrow. It will be something for the children to do when all the schools are cancelled due to the snow which is forecast for this week.

    Put mine up on Friday afternoon. Usually wait a little longer but I might be away from home over Xmas. Sat here now with only the tree lights on and a small lamp. I also put together a village scene with houses I've bought from charity shops and some small people and snowmen. Some I can put those little candle lights in so they shine through the windows.

    Come on you bah humbugs, get your trees up. :lol:

    :D Today, all done by me, from getting the tree and decs down from the loft and throwing the boxes into the shed until they are needed to pack it all up again, which will be before the New Year. :D

    Everywhere is twinkling now. :D

    Roast dinner too, what a lovely day. :D

    Ours is also up - in the loft! :lol:

    We don't put anything up until 18th December as my other half has a birthday today (11th) very inconsiderately.

    The tree is then put away on New Year's Day as I can't tolerate the thought of doing it the first week back to work in the New Year.

    These people with birthdays in December! very inconsiderate isnt it !

    Sis in law is 17th, My OH is the18th!! Sons Gf is 21st and her moms is xmas day :o

    Your little village sounds lovely applerose with all the lights shinning through all twinkley :D

    It only happens once a year so come on people make the effort you will be glad you did :D
