On my left hand I can no longer bend my middle finger so it will touch the palm of my hand. The bottoms third where it meets the palm is painful and it aches up to my elbow.

I had an injection a few months ago which was very effective I am wondering if I can have another.

In the short run will a wrist brace or bandage or taping help

I think the question about taping etc is one for a doc or physio rather than us because we're neither and each person's circumstance is individual. Do you regularly do finger exercises to help keep your joints moving? When I attended an AC course on pain management one of the things they recommmended was soaking hands in warm water whilst flexing the fingers and another one was pretending to play a piano. I am convalescing from double carpal tunnel surgery at the moment and in addition to the hospital exericses I am playing 'imaginary' scales to keep everything moving. DD

I've never had injections in my fingers though I've had them in other joints. The thinking was that you could certainly have more than one but they didn't like to do them often and I think that's because the more one has the less effective they are but I could be wrong there.

As DD says, you need to ask the docs but exercises will help to maintain the range of movement. Check out AC's booklet on exercise. (Publications and Resources at the top of the page.)
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
