My saga with the Meth & Sulpha, an update

Hi everyone,

As you know I have been having problems with the Meth & Sulpha and was told last week to stop taking everything.

On Tuesday I visited the RA nurse, who I have to say was the nicest man that I have ever met, we agreed a new course of action given that my blood results where okay.

I have restarted the Sulpha increasing from 1 tablet per day and eventually increasing to 4 tablets per day and stopping there. I am not taking the Meth (which I am delighted about!).

I have to revisit the Nurse in late January to see how I am doing.

I did get a lovely steriod injection into the bum as well :oops:

Interstingly my diagnoses has apparently changes from RA to PA? Even the nurse was a bit suprised about that, so he is going to check with the consultant.

I have been through the mull the past few weeks but I think I am on the mend now, but I really wanted to thank everything for their support its great that everyone on here is so supportive.

Well, the 'bum jab' should ensure a good Christmas and give the other stuff time to kick in again. I do hope this new regime is the one for you. So often, it's just a matter of tinkering with the meds until the right combo is arrived at.

From my experience the label change doesn't alter the treatment but I hope you find that the increased sulph does the trick. Something else may be added to that in the future (that's usually the way these things go) and let's hope that you can find the right mix of meds for you. DD
