Not content with a mere wrist fusion, our surgical junkie is now off back for a cataract removal on Monday and is feeling just a tad nervous at the thought of someone approaching her eye with a knife, especially as it's only a local. (Keep the other eye on him to make sure he gets it right, Numpty  )

So, can we all pile in, please? It's OK, Numpty. I've got the cabernet.

I'll be there too, Numpty, it doesn't sound fun but I am sure you will get through it OK as you are a lady with plenty of guts and spirit. Dare I say 'focus' on the benefits? No? OK. DD

    Hi Numpty
No need to feel nervous....I've had both done and it was easy
I still wear reading glasses but thats all.
Be prepared for the shock you will get {if you are like me} when you come home. Oh look at that dust!!! Look at those wrinkles  Everything was so much clearer...not always a good thing
My wonderful daughter...in her mid twenties then.....{when I said about wrinkles} said.....mam thats what we've always been looking at

Thanks for this Sticky, and thank you to everyone for your support and well wishes.
I know it's going to be for the best, but I'm still very nervous.
They're doing my right eye on Monday, and that's my worst eye, so I should see a big difference. Then they'll do the left eye, some time in the new year.
Hileena, I still remember what the dust and wrinkles look like, so they won't be too much of a surprise
It will be good to see clearly again though, and for that part, I can't wait!
    Thank you all so much,
    Numpty

I'll be there for you too. My next door neighbour had hers done a few weeks ago and she says it has made a massive difference. I don't blame you for being nervous - I would be too. Good luck! xx

Thank you so much, it helps to know you are all there for me.
My OH has been working away this weekend. My eldest daughter surprised me by coming to stay. My youngest daughter was here as well. We had a lovely weekend, putting up the Christmas tree, and watching Christmas movies, chatting and laughing. I've been completely relaxed, and not even thought about tomorrow.
My eye is watering quite badly, I really hope it doesn't make any difference to tomorrows procedure :? Fingers crossed.

A relaxing weekend is good prep for an op. I wonder if the watering eye had anything to do with putting up the tree. If so, should be OK by tomorrow. I hope so. I'll be there but I'll keep Sebastian at bay. We don't want germs about

Thanks again to you all :D
I'm just about to leave, so a bit jittery

Sticky, the runny eye is a blocked tear duct, which I had syringed earlier in the year. The doctor said it probably wouldn't work, booked me for another procedure in case it didn't. That would have involved drilling a hole through my nose bone, for tears to drain better  Anyway, the syringing worked, so I cancelled the other procedure, but the problem has returned

Right I'm off, maybe you could practice carol singing in my pocket
