Hi All!
I have been back to my great hydrotherapy pool since having my TKR 6 weeks ago...It was good to get back although I didnt hardly swim...Just walked about in the pool and when did venture up to deep end had a float in both hands and kicking with my good leg, mustve looked like a lame crab or something!...Was able to tread the water, get my knee moving and it felt quite good in there...
When went to get out however tried to walk up the supported steps and it didnt feel good putting all my weight on bad leg at all...YEUK!! Off to see consultant's team on Monday to see if all is going to plan..Do still feel need crutches as can walk about 100-150 metres without crutch then start to limp a bit...Having said that walked from our K Village home yesterday as my dad had had an tooth extraction and wasnt feeling great - I managed the 25min walk home although was buggered by the time I got home...Slept like a log!

Its still early days Elaine but sounds like your recovery is going well. Good luck on Monday, let us know how you get on.
With the hydrotherapy pool it probably was using parts of the knee that haven't been used for a long time and that is why it felt odd when you climbed the steps.

You didnt get date wrong did you, today was monday but maybe you thought I meant next week? Anyway it doesnt matter as all replies are most welcome and its nice to know people are interested.....
I couldnt just give up could I? Wouldve been paramount to living half a life (sorry if that sounds dramatic but thats how it felt)....I am out of pain now and though my new knee feels like a lump of metal sometimes its the lack of pain I dont miss!!
