Hi all,
Would forgetting to take my folic acid the day after my meth injection cause me to have a flare up a few days later? Quite sore today and just realised I missed my folic on Saturday?

    Hi Elaine,

Sorry you're having a flare up. It's especially nasty in this cold weather! I was under the impression that folic acid only eases the side effects but perhaps someone else will pop along and help you out on that account.

Hello Elaine555, I'm sorry to read that you are flaring, it's not nice is it? I suspect the main culprit here is your arthritis, despite the meds we take it can sometimes have a nip at us just to remind us that it's still about. The FA is more to ameliorate any side-effects, it is not a disease-modifier as such. Have you taken it yet? DD

No, not taken it yet, I'm still at work. It will be a bath and jammies on when I get home! This ra always comes back and bites you on the bum when your not expecting it!

I take meth by tablet and NEVER take folic acid (and know of a couple of other posters who can't stomach it either). It made me feel ill so /i gave it up years ago. So I shouldn't think it would cause a flare although we are all different.
