They have cancelled my injections

I have come home after waiting 2 hours in the queue for blood test...to find a letter cancelling my back injections for the 17th of this month... :cry: I am in shock..I should have had them in July but they lost the letter...I have rang them 3 times and this time they send me an appointment...now this..I have rang the secretary and she was lovely, but said the surgeon is off sick ..so her hands are tied....sorry about this but I am sure you can imagine how I feel...

    Oh Barbara, thats terrible, really feel for you. I'm waiting for appointment for pain clinic, havnt a clue what to expect, physio are sending me as she feels 20 mins of physio every 2 weeks isnt enough and its not helping me to get mobile.

    Aw Barbara, I can just imagine how you are feeling. :( I am so sorry. I suppose the consultant cannot help being unwell but is he the only person who does these injections?

    I suppose if he is unwell, there will not be a backlog and I suppose it is first come, first served. That is not really fair in your case as you were "forgotten " about.

    Can you say this to his secretary and perhaps be moved up the queue?

    I wish I could do the injections for you and I would give myself a few at the same time. :roll: :wink:

    Oh Barbara, that is bad news, I am so sorry, how frustrating!
    To have kept you waiting all this time, and now cancel, is just too bad. Surely there are other doctors who could do it.

    Is this the pain clinic or a consultant?
    Praying that you get another appt soon.
    You said the secretary was nice so ring her again and try to find out where you are in the queue

    I'm so sorry, Barbara. This must be such a downer. I wonder if your GP might ring in and at least get you first on the list for when the consultant returns? This has gone on long enough. ((((()))))

    How awful for you Barbara. Surely there is someone else who can do the injections for you. I know it's not the surgeon's fault that he is ill but it's not fair that you are left waiting until he returns.

    I am really sorry to hear this. Although this is nobody`s fault, and we understand probably more than others that if you are ill , you are ill, it is still very frustrating for you. I hope they sort you a new appointment soonxx

    Thanks so much everyone...I have read all your post , sorry I cant name you all I am scared of leaving someone out.
    I am shattered with this pain..the steroid injections has helped a little, and i rang the Secretary today and she is fuming, she know my story well and she is so kind.
    Anyhow I am on the first list that will be done early January, a letter will come with the actual date.
    You are all so kind, and thank you again for your support xxxx

    I was so sorry to read your post Barbara and can only imagine the frustration and disappointment you felt after all the hassles trying to get the injections sorted in the first place.

    But I am pleased that the secretary has been able to help get your appointment sorted for January - and hopefully it will be early in January as they have said, so you don't have to wait too much longer.
