Hello everyone, so sorry I've been away for a while. My computer decided it didn't want to work
I have managed to keep up to date with all thats been happening via my mobile phone but haven't been able to post anything. A lot of you have been, and still are, going through really horrible times. My thoughts go out to all of you.
Nothing much has happened in my life over the last few months. RA is starting to niggle a little more each day but still managing to work and do other "normal" things. The only thing thats causing me a problem is managing the horses. This wet weather certainly isn't helping, the fields are like bogs so the horses are stabled at the moment which inevitably involves a lot of heavy work. I'm struggling with making the decision of letting a good friend of mine have them. She'd look after them really well, but I know I'll really miss them. Must do whats best for them in the long run though and things aren't going to get any easier.
I had a rheumy appointment 3 weeks ago, she suggested changing oral meth to injected and continuing with the Plaquenil, Levothyroxine, Leflunomide, folic acid and 12 weekly B12 injections. Unfortunately, she also seems to think I have a significant disk prolapse between C7 and T1. I can't see how that would be the case - surely I'd be in a lot more pain. I do get pins and needles and dizzy spells but put that down to the pernicious anaemia and side effects of medications. Anyway, I've got to have an MRI on 20th March - really not looking forward to that as I'm slightly claustrophobic.
Now I have developed a really nasty flu bug (its going round the hospital where I work), I feel absolutely horrendous and can't take any of my RA medications until its gone so can feel myself starting to seize up. I've just rung the hospital to find out which Medic is on call tonight, he's agreed that if I seize up in the night I can go in, bypass the long wait in A & E, and he'll give me a kenalog injection. Gotta be some perks I suppose.
Anyway, sorry for the essay and sorry for my absence. I wish you all a happy, painfree 2013

Stay with the horses as long as you can.....can you go down to one? You must do your best for them but they are there for you too. They give something special and I am sure give you much back. I have ridden from being 3 years old and they are special creatures.
I am sure you will find the right balance soon. Don't make any decisions whilst you are particularly poorly. Hope you feel better soon0 -
It's nice to hear from you again, I hope the computer continues to play along now. I know it's a nuisance for some stopping their meds when they have a bug but it does help the body to fight the infection and so get rid of it quicker. You will soon be back on them and I hope the change to injected meth proves to be beneficial (ooooops! I should have done mine this morning thanks for the prompt! ) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

It's lovely to see you back, resusjan, but you do seem to have a lot of nasty stuff going on right now. I hope you got your nice medic last night and thus the jabs.
I've never owned a horse, just ridden them but I've hung around with horse owners long enough to know how tough it is to let them go. I hope you can come to a decision that's right for you.
As for the rest, I hope it all improves and as quickly as possible. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks for your replies, I've spent the whole day in bed trying to decide whether to sweat or shiver, ended up alternating between the two. I'm ok as long as I don't try to stand up. Hopefully, will feel better tomorrow0

Hi resusjan,I had to put my horse out on permanent loan as I could no longer look after her.I do miss her but she is only local,so when I can,I go visit her.I love her lovely horsey smell and always have a cuddle and breathe her in. I miss riding too but have been unable to ride for the past 12 years due to the R.A and Fibro.

Happy New Year to you too Jan
Lovely to see you back posting - horrible when your computer lets you down sin't it?
I do not know what to say about your beloved horses other than I think you will know when the time is right - at least you do have a fantastic plan 'B' for them Just now might not be the right time to decide as you say it's sooooo boggy out there things might feel a bit worse than they actually are???
Anyway lovely to see you
Love
