Do I inform DWP

Hi guys and a Happy New Year to you all.
Sorry I haven't been on the forum for ages but due to family problems my sister moved in for the past 5 months and it has been lovely having her company every day.

Anyway on to my reason for posting.
I have been on Incapacity Benefit for about 10 years due to an inner ear /balance problem, so my last aplication and ATOS examination was mainly concerned with that and the Osteo that had just started in my right knee at the time.
I got through that ok, as as soon as I am asked to bend to touch my knees I start retching because the dizziness is so bad on bending or stretching.
Anyway, I had applied for DLA but was rejected so didn't pursue it at the time.
When the OA got worse I decided to apply for DLA but was again rejected, but decided to appeal and eventually won my case after a face to face interview with the appeal panel ....who I have to say were lovely and very sympathetic....even though they could only pass judgement on the BPPV (dizziness) and OA in my right knee as that was all that I had applied for at that time.
Since then the OA is now in both hips, both knees, hands and shoulders ( all showed up on X-ray so have proof of this).
My problem now is, do I INFORM the DWP that my symptoms are a lot worse, or do I wait until my next assessment?
I know we are all going to be re-assessed for PIP within the next few years anyway.
Has anyone informed DWP of a worsening of symptoms and then had problems as a result, or do they just put it down on your notes ?
Any advice gratefully received.

Love Harley xx

PiP will be 2014 when they start existing people with DLA so would wait for that , dont expect they would change it anyway , did try mine 12 years after getting DLA for RA but they seem to have standard levels given for RA

you may be different if your'e not getting higher rate for mobility

Sorry, I can't help, Harleyquin. Have you tried asking your local CAB or DIAL?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Harley

Personally and it is just my opinion not based on any experience, id leave it for now until they send you the form to fill in...I dont know when that will be in your case but sometimes if you contact these people they can send you too soon for re-assessment and the stress ride starts all over again being made to jump through proverbial hoops for some ATOS numpty!
I think id prepare as well though, get it written down how bad things have gotten worse for you too though...Wont harm to have it there for when you need it on computer or in a notebook...
Again its just my opinion but I believe the less stress we can give ourselves in life then its better for us...

    Good Luck

Hiya, I would advise against telling them anything new. I have had my dla cut from high to nothing and am appealing at the mo. It is good to hear you got it when appealing.
Even though my symptoms are much worse than previously it seems they dont take this into account, so as i say leave it and wait for renewal.

All the best, hope you come to a decision xx
