:D She's home and tired. Not sleepy tired but shattered tired. This kind is red :o but it's all in and hopefully doing its stuff. She's been warned to be very gentle with her skin, especially hands and feet and no elbows on the table :o or on anything else for that matter as pressure must be kept off her skin as much as possible. I hope you have a good night's sleep, May. You've earned it :)

Crikey, keeping pressure off one's skin is far from easy - is it possible to 'hover sleep'? I sincerely hope that you have a good night May, and that this red stuff does the job. ((((()))))) DD

Well..I'm here. Not had a great deal of sleep...steroids. Apart from the fact I can only have tepid showers or baths there is some good news.
No washing up and hoovering is a no no unless I can stop my hoover from vibrating. No sun..well thats not a problem as snow is forcast on the coast here.Ok so got the sickness but I'm taking the tablets along with more of the steroids and a head like a bucket but that could be lack of sleep or maybe tension as all my obs are ok. I'm due an eye test but not a good idea while all this is going on as that too is not recommended.
I intend to win this battle again whatever it costs. This type of chemo is apparently difficult to get in this country although quite common in the states. I don't know if pricing comes into it. My guess is its likely.
So all in all not too bad at the moment. But Sticky I have a cough this morning!!!!!! Thanks for all the support from all of you. You are wonderful people. Love May xx

Hi you.. well done... you will be right about the tension bit...it does not help with sickness or sleeping. Must admit steroids stop me sleeping.Price as you know always has something to do with treatments.. which we all know is wrong but hey. So glad you have got through this one... do you need some bubble wrap sent?? :):) not sure how easy it would be to walk on.. Try and rest and get some cat naps today.

    Well done you May :)

I hope the steroids will let you sleep soon and that the antiemetics are doing their job :?

Most of all I hope the new chemo from America is fantastic and does the job for you.

Take care you know we are all here rooting for you

Oh May, I'm so sorry about the cough. I don't think it's mine as I still have it but I hope it clears off quickly.

Head like a bucket? Ah, yes, but it's a very nice bucket :) and, as for the chemo maybe being pricey - that's OK, you're definitely worth it.

You had a very stressful day yesterday so Dr SW prescribes a very easy one today. Just relax and watch your husband vaccing and washing up. ((()))

Take it easy May for as long as you can, please try not to fret too much about how your husband is doing the cleaning and cooking, I know it is not easy watching someone do things but remember he is only a man and does not see things as we do  I hope you start to feel much better and stronger soon.

Thank you for posting, it's great to hear from you (as always). There is more to life than hoovering etc so kick back as gently as you can, 'supervise' if necessary  and keep the focus on winning this battle. I hope the steroidy thing wears off soon so you can get some rest and rediscover your head - or do you have to take them every day? (I apologise, I probably should know this. ) DD

Great to see you posting May. Hope the sickness wears off soon and you start to get some sleep. No hoovering or washing up? There's something good in everything. Hope the supervising doesn't tire you out.

I've been awake and up since 3.45. Had a drink...Tea!!! Wide awake.
Before you are given chemo its normal to be given the steroids IV. Because of my bad reaction to the other chemo I was given a hefty dose and follow up of 3 days of tablets.
I really don't mind being up in a peaceful house and although I can't really do anything much I'm not complaining. John will be doing Sunday lunch and the washing up. Hoovering was done yesterday with my imput from my recliner. He is good anyway but not without a little bit of vocal help.
Hands more so especially palms are very sore and soles of feet. This was expected and will get worse before it gets better. Great thing is aches and pains not too bad.No headache and no cough.I'll probably cat nap later.
So hey ho.....I'm getting rid of this horrible disease and the hope is it stays away this time. I can only have this chemo every 4 weeks instead of 3 weeks as normal as it stays in your body longer. This gives you longer to get over it but won't now be finished until June. One month before my youngest daughter has her baby. Good timing. I will very probably not be back here again today. It will depend on my daft hands.
I really appreciate your support. You have no idea how I feel when I know that my cyber friends are there for me.
I hope you all have a painfree day as possible. I am thinking about all of you. Love May

 He's a bloke, May. 'Nuff said. I like the 'vocal help' concept. Mr SW isn't as keen on it, though
