Hi
Has anyone tried wearing wooden clogs to help with walking
Years ago in my youth clogs were the in thing and I wondered if they would help
Was watching antique road trip and they were in hebden bridge where they said they still make clogs made me think they might be good for my feet
Any advice?
Maria

I'd guess it would depend on how bad your arthritis was and where. They'd definitely support your feet and, if well made, in all the right places - for a normal foot. But, if you have problems with the soles of your feet in particular, I'd have thought they'd be far too unyielding. Do you wear orthotic insoles? An orthotist could advise you. Or, if you're in the area, just try some.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

my orthotics guy said clogs weren't good. I think you have to grip with your toes and the traditional ones made of wood are very hard on your joints. Something about having backs is important. However, B*r*nst**k do make them with backs and they are probably the same high standard of their sandals but prob also expensive like their sandals. Might be worth checking them out.

I wouldn't have thought they'd be that good, not the traditional wooden ones. There's nothing to absorb the shock of your feet hitting the ground, toes have to scrunch (you can't help doing it) to keep them on, they may well be supportive but the jarring would be too much. A clog-style with a soft sole may be a better option - and one with a strap round the heel. DD

    :(

I used to love my clogs too in my youth.

A lot of folks on here use cr*cs though I think.
