:D

Hi all :D:lol: :P  :D

Guess who had a positive result today :):D:lol: :P

OK I'll tell you, it was me :D

I attended my OT assessment early and was seen early, by the same OT who refused me a Blue Badge in April. Then I told them I was waiting for a TKR and they decided my problem was not permanent so I was denied.

This time it is because the TKR did not work and the consultant has written to that effect. He says from a surgical point of view the op was a success but I am one of a small number that has problems and I was clearly struggling with my mobility.

My assessment was more like a short Q&A session, she remembered me from last time and had my application form so had most of the answers anyway.

When she told me to sit down I noticed the three chairs did not have arms :? I asked for a chair with arms otherwise I would need help to get up. (Where have we heard that before - thank you Elaine I owe you one of whatever you desire :D )

OT said she would help me to get up so I sat down.

When asked about my pain level on a scale of 1 to 10 I said 20.

I was not made to walk anywhere and she said she would write to me in a few days with the decision to award the badge for three years, and I would be asked by another letter to go to collect the badge.

Miracles do happen :)

Like everyone I was assess and got my badge, I was lucky as the assessment center place was just across the road to where I live. I forgot to put 2 photos in with my application and they had to send for another one. Got the badge last week. There are lots of rules in using it though and I still trying to make myself familiar with them.
