Hi
Went to see my Orthopaedic Consultant yesterday
I require further surgery to left foot
I had fusion of big toe which was successful however my 2nd toe has deteriorated, so after many months of thinking about it the time is right
Its more complicated then before as it will involve my 3rd & 4th toes to help relieve the pain but I know it will be woth it
I am fully aware of what can go wrong as I was a staff nurse on his ward & I know I picked the best so have every faith in him
Will keep you posted
Maria

    Ouch! Maria

    You poor thing :?

Mind you I can see that not only have you given this careful thought, but you have the reassurance of knowing that the surgeon is a great one.

Yes please do let us know how you get on any timescale yet?

    Love

Oh dear, at least you know you ar ein good hands and I hope this can be done sooner rather than later. How long a recovery time will you need? I don't know much about foot surgery but I gather it can be complicated and the convalescence lengthy. Good luck with it and I hope it helps matters. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I dont know if its an advantage being an ex nurse then going on the ward, maybe not or maybe you can just switch off to a certain extent and let them look after you confident in the knowledge they are competent nursing staff...
I hope you dont have to wait long for your surgery..

I think that's good news, Maria :) Definitely more good than bad. I hope it comes quickly. At least you'll have every confidence in your surgeon and nurses :D
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    So true
I am lucky knowing the surgeon and know 100% he will do his best
He's also an excellent surgeon and also help regarding my ill health application
Foot surgery is rather tricky and he says it will take 6 months to feel normal and up to 12 months for swelling to go down
The pain is so bad I'm willing to give it a go if it goes wrong the fact I'm now retired has also helped me decide
Waiting list is roughly 4 months and he's also put me on short notice list but that's a lengthy one too
    Will keep you informed
