How much of a saddo am I?

Owing to a cold, with added extras, I've not taken my methotrexate yet this year until lunch time today. Naturally, various bits of me have been expressing their disapproval of this state of affairs over the last few weeks.
I knew I was glad to be able to take it again but it's the first time I've ever smiled affectionately at the bottle before taking it out of the cupboard

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Are you sure it wasn't a bottle of Chenin Blanc?0

I too smile at bottles but I have to say they don't contain meth tablets. I'm not surprised you smiled - this heralds your return to more comfy joints - what's not to like? I hope they 'kick in' soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Sticky
Was it like smiling at a long lost `friend`??
I hope it kicks in soon and that you keep bug free so you can keep on the bottle!!

Not to say I don't often look at my syringes and feel a great wave of gloom and terror but I think absence would make my heart grow very much fonder too! Mat xIf you get lemons, make lemonade0

 Numpty, wash your mouth out, and not with CB I might be sad but I'm not mad yet. Well, not completely.villier wrote:I think you deserve a glass of chenin blanc xx
Me too, Marie, but not on my first meth day Tonight, alas, will be dry.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. I'm looking forward to regaining some of those minute-but-essential movements again. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I don't know Sticky, smiling at the bottle is ok, talking to them is not If you call them 'my precious', seek immediate refuge in a glass of malt0

I promise you all, I didn't talk to it or kiss it or savour the pills in any way. It just suddenly looked very appealing. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Silly me  Chenin Blanc would be in the fridge, not the cupboard0
-
Appealing sounds good SW. Its possible..nay probable I'll be looking at a bottle in the same way over the weekend and it won't be meds of any description.0

Get in there, May. If anyone has earned it, you have. I'll drink to that (but not tonight).
Numpty, CB would be in me, not the cupboard or fridgeIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Ahhh Sticky, I feel much better knowing i am not the only saddo. When I was withdrawing off the MTX last spring and it got hard I did open my draw and look fondly at an injection pack. I didn't take it but I was sorely tempted!! Hope you coped OK with a dry night, I keep dreaming of a G&T or a glass of champagne, I had half a glass of red wine last friday and it made me feel really sick so they obviously didn't appreciate it, strange children.Hey little fighter, things will get brighter0

I'm afraid I've given up on complete sobriety with the Metoject. If I have a few dry weeks and then indulge in some bubbly or a g&t or even a dram it doesn't show up any more in my blood. But for ages every time I sipped a bit my GP would phone on the day of results and tell me my liver enzymes were blagging and I would get really morose and resent the drug more than ever.
Best way for me is to just have a bit every now and then and I just warn GP in advance. It stops me obsessing as never been a big drinker until I got RA - but while undiagnosed it became part of my recipe for dealing with things - a dram at bedtime!
If things get banned they grow big and too tempting where I'm concerned. As I say I cant imagine feeling affection for my Metoject - but then i haven't been banned from it yet ever and anything's possible! If you get lemons, make lemonade0 -
Just seeing how our SW is doing today.....hopefully things are getting a little easier (((()))xxLove

Bless you, Barbara. I'm OK but the meth won't start working yet for a while.
Mat, I've never even aimed at 'complete sobriety' I seem to have inherited good 'liver genes' and my ALT levels are always good. I try to keep my meth days alcohol free (certainly yesterday, after such a long absence) but on other days I enjoy a glass, more if with friends. It's what we keep saying - we're all different. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hopefully stickey you didn't wake up with a bad hangover and find the bottle of MXT on the other side of the bed with a couple of empty Chenin Blanc bottles on the side table!! Wow What a weird dream that would be!!! :shock:0
-
Och I know that but my stupid liver is just a right blag! So pleased yours isn't though and really glad you are back on the MTX - hope you stay well now and it kicks back in. Spring is coming (well not up here yet but its only February of course!) and bugs and stuff should be on the wain. You've made me fonder if my Metoject than I thought possible just now - thanks! XIf you get lemons, make lemonade0

I'm glad your finally back on them sticky I'll be glad to start mine for the first time hopefully a week on tuesday at my next rheumatology appointment as they sound like they are a good thing to be on and nothing better than some relief.0

Awe Sticky if meth not going to kick in for a bit all the more reason now for having a cheeky wee chenin blanc after all it's the weekend....................enjoy xxSmile a while and while you smile

Marie, you are a lady after my own heart. I have every intention of wining with my dining tonight despite the fact that, in 5-6 weeks, I've managed to forget all about 'the meth effect'. Consequently, I'm out on my feet today, not helped by a late night/early morning and I'm fairly confident that a 'wee glass' will have me nodding off over my meal  Worth experimenting with, thoughIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
